Master of Orion 3

i've been a LONG time fan of the series and i bought this when it first came out despite all the bad reviews. everything is just overdone. the interface is horribly cluttered and you end up needing to dig through windows to get to what you need to get at. the combat system and interface is horrible not to mention the fact that your fleet now has to be deployed in squads of different sizes. instead of designing a single ship and building it, you now have to build the ships you want to go along with it. it just gets to the point where the details are just plain annoying and it just feels like the game is loading you down with busy work. best to pretend this never existed.

After playing MoO1 and MoO2, I was looking forward to them improving the UID, the game play and the races. My son bought MoO3 and let me try it out. Talk about a huge disappointment! The UID is a bit nicer and flashier, but in every other way, this game is terrible compared to its two predecessors! Don't waste you money OR your time on this.

It was a great series and sadly many poor decisions were made. The graphics improved but the gameplay took a nosedive. The only reason I can think to get this game is to just have a complete set.

MOO 1 & 2 are two of my most favorite games of all time (bless GOG for making them available, btw). I was psyched when I heard about MOO3. The premise, the features that Quicksilver, who took fan feedback, said was included. Never have I been more disappointed by a game. The fan feedback? The development team did the opposite. The interface is awful and the level of micromanagement involved is going to be a turnoff even if you can get past the interface. MOO2 was literally a perfect balance. MOO3 tipped the scales into "god-awful disaster."

Like many of the others, MOO & MOO2 are at the top of my favorites list. MOO3 is as near the bottom as the others are near the top.
