It stinks.... big time.

Generally I'm not one to quit at the first hurdle but I suspect the comments below mine are either from the developers or from GOG themselves. Failing that the people who wrote previously have some sort of drug addiction. First things first I understand this is an old game and I'm not expecting miracles. But when you have a planet... oh I dunno lets call it Earth and it takes 66 turns to build something as simple as a colony ship you have to start asking questions. Oh but let's move on to the next wonderful bit of coding, the bit where the game fails to see that parsecs dont actually mean crap in this game when it allows you to fly to a star FURTHER away than to a closer one. Hmm I'm beginning to think its not just me here. In short save your money and go play something a bit more worthwhile. This should be left where it belongs... in history.

Good in their day, but now?

They were decent 4X space strategy games back in the day, but the likes of Space Empires have since FAR surpassed them in fun and playability... This is a timeless genre and there isn't at all any sort of eye candy pressure, so we'll go on AI and scriptability in which case these classics are incredible losers v. more recent games unless you mean "Sword of the Stars" or the crappy Impulse game both of which are so dumbed down that it's not even funny.

No nostalgia, not worth it

I hate to berate a older game for it's graphics, but MOO's are just too dated. If you didn't play the game "back in the day" (as I didn't), and thus have no nostalgia for it, the game is just too old, the graphics horrible, the audio cheesy. The 4X gameplay is still there, of course. I'd suggest more modern games like Galactic Civilizations over this one

This game is nearly as old as me.

Why is this game not free? This game should have been pensioned and retired years ago. No amount of rose-tinted glasses can made this game lose its antiquity and limited replay value.

MOO 1 - outdated 21 years ago to Civilization

1 game is enough for me... Like a Bones of Civilization. When you don't have resources what diplomacy can you expect? Even worse - you cannot finish dam game before they completely die. It is like playing text based rpg without anything special inside it. Not enough anything except infinity bored researchs. Strategy game cannot be experimental. It must be hard planned.
