A technical disaster
Already beat the game on Xbox, it was such a technical disaster there and so it is here. Alright, the game isn't half bad, it's actually really fun to grind your way to the top and 60's deep south america is *cheff kiss* Anyways, so far (only a couple of minutes) it has been nothing but trouble trying to get this game to work. Fresh install, click play and whoops it opens up in windowed mode. That's ok. Then, yeah.. "Fortunate Son" starts playing on the radio, lemme crank up the volume a little...it freezes. The computer doesn't seem to be frozen, just the game. I press the windows key, and after a few seconds it escapes to desktop, open the game again and it's fixed. Mind you, this also happens while trying to go full screen. First impression are everything, and this game doesn't even deliver on that. Guess Mafia 3 is constantly screwed on all platforms then, and for what? For an at best 6/10 game? Don't waste your money. TL;DR +Great setting +Great soundtrack +Fun gameplay +Fun story -Performance is abyssmal on a decent graphics card (RX 6600 XT, and 60 FPS is also wonky) -An odyssey to get it working on full screen mode -Bugs that break some missions (mind you these are present on all platforms) -Some mods don't seem to work? -Menus are still locked to 30fps logic, somehow? -And tons of problems that are already baked into the base game. So, in conclusion buy it only if this is your first time playing it and you're midly interested in the series or want a decent GTA-like, be prepared to have a headache or two trying to fix this crap. If this isn't your first time, move on there are better games out there worth your time.
