Description
Sequel to the award-winning game Lume, Lumino City begins where that game left off. Begin by exploring the city, and using your ingenuity piece together all sorts of puzzling mechanisms to help the people who live in its unique world. Discover gardens in the sky, towers marooned high on an immense waterwheel, and houses dug precariously into cliffs. To create the environment, a ten foot high model city was built by hand and by laser cutter, with each motor and light wired up individually, bringing the scenes to luminous life.
  • A truly unique way to make a game. Everything you see on screen was made using paper, cardboard and glue. Resulting in building a 10 foot high model city, using laser cutting plus miniature lights and motors to bring it to life.
  • A cross disciplinary team worked on Lumino City State of Play collaborated with award-winning architects, fine-artists, prop-makers and animators, each discipline brought something unique to the design and execution of the finished game.
  • Lumino City continues where Lume left off. As Lumi welcomes Grandad back at the end of Lume, she is swiftly catapulted into a new epic journey and a hunt for Grandad after his dramatic kidnap. Exploring the unusual dwellings beyond the city gates and finding out more about her intriguing Grandad's life along the way. Is he all he seems?

A lovely tale

A lovely puzzle filled tale with really nice art and often very interesting puzzles. The game does not stress you in any way and even gives you solutions in a large engineer book that you can check if you get stuck. The art and style of the game and also the music are incredibly good and soothing. The only drawback I saw was that sometimes one did not know what to click on. This went a little bit against the "never stressing out the player" feeling of the whole game. However, often if you just followed the final instructions (dont panic, breath, continue not panicking) you saw where to go next.

Just amazing!

So rarely does anything evoke the joy of childhood, complete with innocent adventures full of imagination. This game has managed to do that, and do it wonderfully! The art style (using actual miniature cardboard set pieces!) combined with the warm ambient soundtrack will bring a smile to anyone's heart. This game is great for kids and adults alike. The puzzles range in difficulty, but most are not difficult to solve, as you're given a hint book in the game. A couple of times the formulas you have to calculate to find the hints in the book weren't clear, but in those cases I was able to actually solve the puzzles without the hints. Just sit back and enjoy this beautiful world, like sitting in a cozy room in the afternoon sun.

Simple, fun puzzler

If you enjoy puzzles it's worth a buy! Art is really endearing and the soundtrack is cheerful (albeit a bit repetitive at parts). Very little of the puzzles require you to wander around looking for an object for your inventory, which was really refreshing! I got particularly stumped on one puzzle so I consulted the in game "Handy Manual" and it's got such a great design. You have to figure out a mathematical problem to find the page your puzzle clues are located on (or flip through about 900 pages). It makes me feel a lot less cheap for getting help with a puzzle :)! Overall well made game that the designers obviously enjoyed making!

Very nostalgic and beautiful game

It just reminds me of The Neverhood series, and Armikrog.
