Lost in Play

I played this game with my son (6). Absolutely loved it. Puzzles we're fun, story was Awesome!

Took me about 4.5 hours - in one sitting - to finish it; the game consists of about 15 different chapters/episodes/scenarios, at least it didn't overstay its welcome. I’m more than well familiar with the Point-and-Click genre at this point, and games by Daedalic and Amanita Design are some of my favorites, and comparing this game to those developers’... ...I can’t say I really enjoyed this one; there were too many puzzles with too much variability (board game style puzzles), and then you DID have puzzles with one set solutions: Sliding block puzzles, and the like, and I DO NOT care for those. The light refracting puzzles, the electric rubber ducky puzzle, the road map maze puzzle, HATED THEM. Can we just STICK with puzzles that’re about using things on things? At the least, the game has a built-in hint-offering function, but honestly, I would’ve preferred a function that allowed you to completely BYPASS puzzles you don’t care for, so I just struggled through each of them until I solved them. NOT FUN. There are at least 2 areas that’re wide open and require A LOT of walking, and a RUN button for those locations would’ve saved me A LOT of tedium in trudging around. Suffers from a lot of problems that most indie games do these days: Might have nice artwork, animation and sound design, but it’s just NOT FUN TO PLAY. The most fun I had was playing as the chicken during the prison scenario; that WAS kind of funny. The chicken’s the best character, far as I’m concerned. Wish I would’ve played this sooner, if only so I could’ve refunded it; if you try this out yourself, make sure you do it soon enough, so you can get it refunded if you don’t care for it. I'm going to uninstall this now, and forget I ever even played it...
