Give it a chance

Yes, the first chapters of this game feature some timed sections (which still give you plenty of time to explore and figure out what to do, and are easy to repeat) and an easy QTE sequence. But once past those parts, you get to enjoy the rest of the game, which is full of adventure game goodness, in the style of the first game. You may notice some small bugs, and the voice acting tracks could stand to be louder, but nothing game-breaking. In this game, WW2 is over, but now Fenton must team up with his daughter and a mysterious woman to prevent a Viking artifact of immense power, which the Nazis stole but was never able to use, from now falling into KGB hands. Will they figure out the secret of the Viking gods? The game doesn't give Viking mythology that much time, and so it doesn't go very deep, but I still found what was there interesting and entertaining. This game push the limits of what adventure game heroes get to steal, and from where. If you enjoy adventure games, don't be afraid of purchasing this.

Left angry

This game is worse and less fun than the original. I have to wonder if they fired the first crew and hired hacks. The clues were often entirely absent and when they were there they were frequently misleading and or inscrutable. Guessed my way to the end out of sheer stubborness and encountered a puzzle that was basically broken. Pulled out a walkthrough against my will to get through the end chapter. Still failed with a clear walkthrough until I found hints from other players that had sorted out the problems with the design. Even then it still did not work for a while. Finished and was left with none of the joy from the first title. The main character was stripped of all humor and charm. The daughter was not terrible. Bad. Bad producers. Bad. Shame on you. To be fair it was very pretty in some places and occasionally tried to break out with some gameplay twists. Not enough to redeem what they did here.

tiresome mechanics

i tried, i really tried. it looks great and i loved the animation scenes, the voice acting, the whole laura croft feel of the game. but there was several mechanics that made me give up. like how all movement froze for each of the characters sometimes long winded and repeated quips. you couldnt scan for any other hotspots look at your inventory, nothing but listen for the umpteenth time. you can skip sometimes by pressing mouse click, but not all the time. then the areas, so prettily painted but there were no flavor text for exploration. it was just move to a scene, see the 3 or 4 hotspots, know that they were needed for the puzzle. solve. move to the next scene. now for the really infuriating stuff, like how hotspots wouldnt activate until you walked up to them, touched them, then use your item. forget using your item on the hotspot directly, you had to first do some rigmarole to enable it to work. or sometimes hotspots would appear until your character was in just the right place. i quit during a QTE event that restarted if you missed one click, and it was very long. the mouse was almost invisible so it was hard to see where to place it. no way to skip, no saving at the point of failure. just restart. i have hundreds of unplayed games. made in 2015 it played like a 1990s game. i dont got time for this. uninstalled.

Nothing like the first part

While I had fun with Lost Horizon, the sequel is bad, to simply put it. Too short, too buggy, with lame puzzles and story. As if developers just stopped caring at one point. Also, introduction of QTE was totally unnecessary. Play the first, skip sequel.

frustrating experience

Do yourself a favour and stay clear of this mess of a game, especially if you liked the first Lost Horizon! Lost Horizon 2 is a frustrating experience, neither a good point and click adventure nor a good action game. It is something really bad in between both worlds. It's certainly more adventure than action, but why put timed events in a point and click adventure game in the first place?! It seems as if the devs wanted to make this game attractive for a younger audience with controllers ready for action or something. The adventure parts of this game are mediocre at best, the timed action parts are outright frustrating and really bad. On top of that Lost Horizon 2 generally feels much less polished and smooth compared to the first part.
