Lords of the grind
Well, the good elements of the game are true effort, nice and somtimes beautiful scenery, not-holding-your-hand attitude, harsh environment to survive in and a good story. The not so good elements of this game are the kind you would want to consider when making your decision whether to buy it or not, because each one will accompany the entire playthrough: First of all, the grind... the game world is devided to areas (i.e maps) of distinctive themes, which is good, but in each of them there are only a handful of different enemy units that constantly repeats in the many dozens of encounters for the given area. that makes the combat part very, very repetative and ultimatly boring. Second, the charater development and ability points available for it throughout a playthrough is way too limiting to be a fun to play with, which complements badly to combat and grind mentioned above. Third, what a wierd way to implement a story to a game. the story is basically revieled in segments of exposition, followed by 4 completely identical segments which left me with the impression of copy->paste for the story layer, followed by the epilog which is a wopping 10! minutes of voice narration over images. In other words, you spend close to all of the playthrough - many dozens of hours, obviosly - advancing very litte in story and when you can't play anymore they dump a bucket of concertrated, branching and interesting story that can hold nicly as a backbone for 3 fair games... for a game that prides itself of its oldschool approach and marketed as such, this was a distinctively negative accord to end with. In conclusion, for me the experiance was of a game that had a lot of the right things going for it yet lacked tremendiosly in execution decisions, balance and interst. Btw, my time playing the game was completely bugs free.

Please re-think your purchase
Please re-think your purchase of this game. I have to say, I thought long and hard before purchasing this game. I watched video footage, read reviews, and finally took the leap. Once in game, as I have posted on the Steam Forums, I was met with an "invisible prison" while walking around the first town... where my character becomes trapped and cannot move from one spot as the walking cycle continues to animate. It is beyond frustrating. What is worse is that after repeatedly posting on the Steam Forums about this, it has been all but completely ignored, having at the time of this posted review, one comment from the developer who asked about specifics that were clearly posted, which were then ignored further. One thing that truly gets under my skin is when a developer brushes off comments of bugs or issues from a paying consumer, and simply moves on to other endeavors, because they have received their money and are done with the buyer. The Steam Forums have become strangely silent, and it looks as though the developer has decided to ignore the bugs and issues that have been posted over there. I will be happy to remove this rating and review, once the developer is willing to do more than simply brush aside game breaking bugs. Until then... Please re-think your purchase of this game.

Review censoring?
I have written a review for this TWICE already in the past few months. BOTH have just simply disappeared? They were two-star reviews labelling the game as "good at the start, but becomes boring, repetitive and grindy later, so you will likely give up and regret the wasting the week or two you have spent on the game". There was nothing that broke GOG's guidelines. Yet TWICE these have vanished. I can only suspect the developer or some other toady connected to them is reporting them. GOG seem also part of the problem, because they are obviously just automatically deleting them without actually examing them to see if there really *is* anything offensive. If this is the level of sheer spite this developer labels their paying customers with, then avoid this game, and all their other titles at all costs. I am truly disgusted.
