In the Time of the Ancients, the Worldly Realm was ruled by a God of pure evil, who enslaved all humankind under his Dominion. But fear turned to anger as rebellion grew in the hearts of men - until the dawn of the Great Rising, when the fight for freedom began. After a glorious victory that cast aside the Fallen God, humans dictated a new order... a world where no sin can ever be forgiven and redemption was not an option.
Now, millennia later, the world trembles in fear as the Demonic Rhogar Legion returns from their dark realm, driven by a foul hunger for innocent spirits. Humanity, in a desperate last act, calls upon an unlikely defender - a convicted sinner, rejected by society and cast out of the light... a man known as Harkyn. Now, alongside his mentor, Kaslo, they must travel to the source of the Darkness... to face the Lords of the Fallen.
Plunge into a fast paced action RPG with a complex and satisfying melee combat system where weapons, armor and skills directly influence the enemy's speed and attacks... if all else fails, lay waste to your foes using forbidden magic power.
Key Features:
Embark on an Epic Quest that spans both human and demonic realms
Confront the mighty Lords, generals of the Rhogar army
Explore a vast dark fantasy world
Make your choices wisely as they may seal your fate
Wield legendary weapons and armors from a vast arsenal
Choose your class: Warrior, Cleric or Rogue and fully customize each with skills and weapons
Lords of the Fallen is just a retarded relative to Souls games. You may love if for that, but more likely you're gonna hate it for that.
The main problem here is that it has no real audience. Souls fans have better games to play, and everyone else will just end up being frustrated by clunkyness and difficulty.
For me it was an average experience, nothing to regret, but also nothing to remember.
To begin with, it is slow. Slow to the point of being too late to parry when the enemy weapon is moving.
And then, there are spiders. For some reason, giant spiders enter a fantasy world much sooner than:
- mythological creatures
- fantasy races
- anything original, at all
Here, you have instead:
- traditional medieval Europe
- demons
- giant spiders
The game presents itself nice.
Very nice.
The style and look of the protagonist seems to hide an interesting story, an hard character and strong personality.
A convict that has been liberated for some unknown reasons... But that s it.
The story doesn t get over from there.
The introduction where you fight that giant moster is not clear at all.
Your mentor choose you for unclarified reasons.
You meet few NPCs without any clear purpose.
In the end the story is not even an excuse.
Combat!
Well, the game presents itself with those hugely unrealistical high fantasy armour and weapons, and decide to add some realistic weight to them; the result is some slow motion character clad in layers and layers of steel.
While you feel the weight of the armours, definitely they don t add related protection.
Experimenting with various outfit, it turns out that dressing lighter will give you that extra mobility to dodge attacks and keep your stamina levels longer, to strike that additional blow.
And that is where the combat fails: the only viable option is to use medium/light weapons to retain a certain amount of movement to match enemies that can attack with blindingly speed. And you NEED to dodge, as no matter what armour you are donning, they ll chop you to pieces in a few blow.
Of all the equipment you find, most of it is useless.
Progression is aslo grind, Grind, GRIND!
You have to die and kill enemies over and over to gain enough experience to progress.
Because enemies respawn.... Chore.
No sorry, at my age can t be bothere with such waste of time.
I was having fun with this game until I got to the Keeper boss. The game will not stop crashing, I cannot beat this boss because of it.
I have tried all fixes found online. Playing at the lowest settings, my gaming pc is only a year old.
It doesn't work. It will not stop crashing and I can't continue the game because of it.
