A little jewel

What can I say, Little Nightmares is simply one of the best Adventure Games I have ever played! It got a great atmosphere, that gave me one shiver after another. There is only one major problem with this game, the control. Mybe its because I am using the Keyboard and no controller, but th controls where just clumsy and inaccurate, with led to many really frustrating moments. Thats, ehy its only 4 stars, not 5. Also, with abround three hours the game is really short! But I didn't feel cheated. Every single second was worth the money! Hope to see more of this great little game!

Fatal error

Although I tried for an hour to start the game it is impossible, I've got the "Fatal Error". I tried with the common solution - adding sde files etc. But it hasn't work either. As some opinion tells that the game is 3-5 hour of gameplay I think that I will just give up.

Atmospheric horror with puzzles & story

An atmospheric horror platformer with some puzzles and minimalist storytelling. I loved the art style and tense "hide and seek" style of gameplay, although it does get frustrating when it’s not clear what to do, or when the awkward camera and controls lead to cheap deaths. However, it is relatively short (3 hours to complete a playthrough of the base game, and about the same for the expansion) and has limited replayability. The expansion levels are longer, but overall, they vary in quality. I felt they were less inventive artistically and as they use the same mechanics as the base game, can be just as frustrating to complete, but they do bring in some new challenges and puzzles. I recommend getting the complete edition, as that feels like the complete game.

Atmospheric

Beautiful game design on this shameless clone of Limbo/Inside, crafting a jittery and gothic fairy-tale atmosphere. It was hard to navigate the levels due to the controls being unnecessarily clunky, though I do admit I played this on a laptop. Non-spoiler late-game critique: the ending was a let-down after the chilling early levels. Recommended overall!

Short, artistic, too slight for some

I have great admiration for the artistry in these puzzle platformers, like Limbo, Inside, and Little Nightmares, that have garnered great mainstream attention, including from people who don't normally play platformers. But the sticking points for me have been that, why are these games so short (take less than half a day to finish), and where is the platforming? The kind of platformers I've always known are supposed to be fast-paced and action-packed. Games like Little Nightmares are the antithesis. There is even a stealth mechanic in Little Nightmares, which is such a weird thing to see in a platformer. In some challenges, you stealth your away slooowly across a big room to avoid the big baddies, which almost made me die of old age. This kind of sleepy and slow-paced platformer is almost a different genre entirely, and it may not be everyone's cup of tea.
