Starring Misfortune Ramirez Hernandez, an imaginative 8-year-old, who seeks the prize of Eternal Happiness, as a gift to her Mommy. Led by her new friend, Mr. Voice, they venture into the woods, where mysteries are unraveled and a little bit of bad luck unfolds.
Sharing the same universe with the cult video game Fran Bow, created by the visionary dev-duo Killmonday Games.

Now with real human voices: Hear Misfortune say some pretty cute things!
A sweet, melancholic adventure.
A story worth experiencing.
Aside from what's in the description of the game, there isn't much to be said without spoilers.
Sweet and sour, sugar and spice, a perfect blend of quirky, creepy, naughty and nice.
This game is much deeper than cutsey surface via it's graphics and voice overs. Can you make it long enough to survive it's psychological tangled tentacles affects on your psyche?
Adventure and graphic novel-esque combined into a great gameplay. I owned it on STEAM and am purchasing again here on GOG to support it's developers, the same as Fran Bow.
Happy gaming.... I'm dusting off my glitter gun.
Follow little Misfortune as she goes on an adventure of a lifetime, you'll soon find out the sinister undertones of the story as disaster seems to follow the protagonist, even tho she always gets away unscathed. The artstyle is beautiful, the music is nice and the story will keep you going, the voice actors did a great job, and Misfortune is both adorable and charming. There are some simple puzzles and dialogue choices, you may think the game is for children, but it touches some topics unfit for that demographic.
Great cozy game, specially if you enjoy dark tales.
Little Misfortune is a different game from its predecessor from the same developers, Fran Bow (with which it shares the universe it's set in, although that's not really important story-wise if not for a piece of detail), and that can be off-putting. This is more of an interactive story with most point&click features replaced or downright removed, but this is not necessarily a bad choice: this game makes use of that to put the spotlight on the story and especially the two key characters, which are voiced this time with some great performances.
There's also quite a lot of dark humor here, and creepiness is more about vibes than the horror imaginery (still present here but not as much as it was in Fran Bow). All of the game revolves around seeing the consequences of your choices in terms of the reactions of the characters, and this is executed incredibly well - at least in my opinion. I found myself being endeared by the voice acting and the general strangeness, even surprising me at times, and I definitely connected enough to pay attention during the final moments.
So, despite the short time required to reach the ending, I ended up liking it a lot and believe it is worth a try (even if I still personally prefer Fran Bow overall as a videogame).
I would just recommend keeping the specifics of this game in mind. As I said, it is different from its predecessor and a rather simple game overall - but with the correct expectations, you'll have a good time.
Not very much of a game, but a welcome oddity in itself.
Great atmosphere, with art direction, music, voice acting etc. being top notch.
Gameplay is very much linear, and more of an interactive story sort of thing. Very few puzzles or challenges. Limited replayability.
Rather short, maybe 3-4 hours. Great for a cozy weekend night.
Expect a dark and endearing little story with solid character, crafted with great love and care. Very much worth checking out if you´re into the genre of "big-headed children being lost in scary woods".
I believe this studio may deliver true excellence in the future.
