Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded

This remake was a horrible disappointment: the graphics try to be modern but look like they were made circa '99, the narration is horrible, the controls are clunky, and worst of all: I didn't have a single laugh during the entire game. I'm lucky to have bought it when it was on sale. If I had paid the full price, I would ask for a refund. If you want to experience LSL, I suggest you get the original game, not this remake.

OK, the game is good and is a good remake, similar jokes, a few new puzzles and a new woman to hit on but it is too expensive. Wait for a sale.

Larry Laffer is back in town and since it has been over a decade since his last escapade (spin-off games omitted), one would expect him to be better preperared for his third trip to Lost Wages. Fortunately he isn't! The developers have done a great job making bringing the visuals up-to-date while making sure that Larry is just as out-of-date as he always have been. Most of the time, the game works just as well as it did in its previous incarnations and the graphical overhaul helps to spark new life into the franchise. While the new content dosn't add up to much, it keeps the game for being just a nostaligia trip and creates some challenge for experienced gamers. Puzzles are relativly simple and players with just a minimum of adventure games under their belt will easily complete the game in just a couple of hours. This being said, the current price of $19.99 shouldn't scare you away as this is a game you buy because of the athmosphere, not the challenge, and LSL: Reloaded is sure to give you a good night out.

I wanted to like it, it is good and funny like the original, but the Mac version is very poor. I've tried it on a number of machines and OS versions, but they all run into the same problem. As the game runs, it progressively gets slower and slower and the fans soon kick into high gear. It really seems to be a bug as I have tried even very beefy models. Maybe the PC version is better.

This is what a remake should be, Everything the original was with improved visuals and expanded depth and content. As a backer it was everything I envisioned. Yes I am biased.
