In LEGO® Bricktales, discover an innovative brick-by-brick building mechanic to design puzzle solutions from your own imagination. See your creations brought to life in a beautiful LEGO world where every problem has a constructive resolution.

Embark on an epic adventure across a world of beautiful LEGO diorama biomes crafted brick by brick as you search for inspiration to help your grandfather reinvigorate his rundown amusement park with your little robot buddy in tow. Your journey will take you to the deepest jungle, sun-drenched deserts, a bustling city corner, a towering medieval castle, and tropical Caribbean islands. Help the minifigures of these worlds by solving puzzles and unlock new skills throughout the story to further explore these worlds and uncover the many secrets and mysteries they contain.

From purely aesthetic creations, such as a market stand or music box, up to functional physics-based puzzles like building a crane or gyrocopter - each diorama offers a variety of construction spots with the freedom of intuitive brick-by-brick building. In each spot you are given a set of bricks and it’s up to you to figure out a unique build that will work. On top of specific puzzles and quests, there are additional builds in the amusement park so you can customize the rides to make them your own!

Your grandfather, a genius inventor, has called you for help! His beloved amusement park is about to close as the mayor is threatening to shut everything down and seize the land if the necessary repairs aren’t made to bring it up to code. With the help of your powerful little robot buddy, you can restore it using a mysterious device based on alien technology.

As a source of power, the device needs happiness crystals, which you can harvest by making people happy and solving their problems. With the aid of a portal, travel to different locations all around the world to help people and collect their happiness crystals. Strap in for the ultimate building adventure and save your grandfather’s amusement park!

  • A globetrotting LEGO adventure: Experience a whimsical and epic adventure around the world, packed with charming dialogue and fun secrets to unravel.
  • Beautiful diorama worlds: Explore five varied story world biomes and the amusement park hub, all fully built out of LEGO bricks.
  • Build like never before: Discover the most intuitive brick-by-brick building in a LEGO video game, as you see your creations come to life in a three-dimensional world.
  • Test your skills with varied puzzles: Different types of puzzles will test your building skills. Use your engineering brain in functional physics-based puzzles to build a bridge for a digger to get across a river, put your designer hat on to build a stunning new throne for the King, or customize the rides in the amusement park.
  • Master your builds in Sandbox Mode: Unlock the Sandbox Mode upon completing a construction spot, then you go back in and improve your build with a huge selection of additional bricks from different themes.
  • Heaps of items to collect and unlock: Find collectables in the different dioramas and use them to buy cool new items for your wardrobe or new brick color sets for the sandbox mode.

Fun, relaxing game. Also child-friendly.

Light puzzle game with a little bit of exploration. No combat, skill trees, dialog, or action. (Nothing like the Tt games.) Just move around, talk, and build stuff. When you find a broken bridge, use Lego pieces (limited types and quantities) to build a new bridge. Or assemble large pre-fab Lego chunks to reform a statue. It's things like that. As you play, you get a few of upgrades (that you take with you to other levels) to open up new areas and collect new items. The writing is charming; what you'd expect from a Lego product, with the same level of puns and subtle humor and some groaners (a couple bordered on "if the kid knows this it's almost vulgar", but nothing a kid's movie wouldn't have). After you've built the puzzles, you can change them to free-build mode, where you get unlimited elements, and additional types of elements to embellish the area, so long as you still meet the criteria required to have passed the puzzle in the first place. There are a few TACOs through the game: each stage has its own "currency" you find in chests, used to unlock new minifig pieces to change your pawn's appearances and to unlock new elements and colors for the free-build mode. Each stage also has one character who wants you to find a bunch of a specific animal, which are hidden through all the stages. (Reward: more of that stage's currency.) Music is pretty good. A couple of the stages are very catchy. Good graphics. They're not "bendy Legos" like seen in Tt or the movies, but are as you would get with the real Lego (ex: bats fly by rotating forward). Some may dislike these animations. Negatives: Your walk pace is slow and it eventually becomes tiring, especially during late-game back-tracking. Also, all the TACOs clear at once, after you get the last upgrade. It'd be better if some were able to be completed before you got all upgrades, just to spread it out. No real replay, but free-play building may appeal to some. No sandbox building; just rebuild mode with extras.

Good start, unsolvable near the end

Some of mid-game / late-game puzzles are illogically difficult: you are not allowed to enforce platforms with pillars where it would be logical in the real life. Instead you need to find another way just for the sake of the puzzle being a puzzle. One of the last (pirate biome, the tower) has a critical bug - player can not climb up a successfully built tower.

Fantastic Lego Game

The music and atomosphere is just so inviting. Building and seeing your work while walking around is awesome. Highly recommend this if you love story and building. It's a very calming game, the kind where you can kick back and relax.

Nice little game.

Cute, relaxing game. My only problem was the lego building-part. It was quite difficult trying to navigate the pieces into place.

Nice but flawed

Walk here, press A, read dialog. Walk there, press A, read dialog. Now walk back, press A, read dialog again. This game feels very restrictive. I really expected much less reading and much more building - maybe even a bit more freedom while moving around. Speaking of building, the controls for building and player movement are very different. They feel like they were programmed by two different teams that didn't talk to each other. Plus, building with a controller or touch screen is clunky as hell (played on a handheld). On the plus side, the graphics are great and I like that the animations are modeled after the movie, with LEGO parts being stiff, not bendable, like in many other LEGO games. All in all, this is not a bad game, but could have been so much more.
