Legacy of Kain™ Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered

Good remaster. Better texture. Gameplay is a bit janky. Pressing controller button before some animation ends ( E.g. execution) can make the button not registered. Overall still good

Feel great to be able to play these game once more without having to mode it to make it playable having a great time so far

Overall, I think it's great. A job well done. Although I couldn't play with my gamepad (could be user error) the keyboard/mouse works just as well. It's the main reason I'm rating this 4 instead of 5 stars. To knitpick though, I had hoped the camera control would be better but it still feels the same as the original. Ariel, I felt, was rendered too modest compared to her original look (her clothes looked tattered across her shoulders in the original). This remastered has her completely covered up. I felt it took away from the feeling of the violent death she endured in Blood Omen. And Malciah: aside from the fact they should have kept the faces of the developers on his body instead of replacing them with skulls, I think he looks great. That's as far as I got for the time being. Looking forward to finishing this. Hoping I can figure out how to get my gamepad to work on it.

As much as i love that this remaster exists, it has issues that should not exist, like not being able to look around with the keyboard. It cant be done, only with the mouse. I dont want to play with the mouse. So because of this the game is almost unplayable. The there is the horrible ai upscale on the SR2 cinematic, it is pretty bad. The new models lost their expressiveness from SR2 as well, facial expressions are not as clear as with the classic look, which is quite a shame. Also not a fan of some of the character design choices made with the new models. I am going to play it more and see what else is there. The extras are highly appreciated though.

I enjoy the high poly models and sharper textures, but the game it self has it's problems: - Jittery camera (places with fixed camera angle are the most noticeable offenders) - Random fps drops near doors - Visible area pop ins when the game doesn't keep up with the camera I honestly would have liked to see a full remake approach with remade combat and polished up graphics, but I understand why they went for just graphical remaster trying to recapture the old school feeling for the original release. i honestly give 4 stars as sign of good will and hope that this only means that we gonna get more LoK in the feature
