Positive surprise
First thing first: This is a visual novel with some choices that matter, three stats to improve in order to unlock more dialog options, and a high replay value. But, don't buy it for the smut. Yes, depending on your choices, you can reel in 4 royals in all perceivable combinations. However, the stiff animations you get as a reward are at the lower end of the pile. The story itself holds its own well, and ends up being more rewarding than the clunky pictures. There is a ton of content, with a compelling fairy tale vibe and an adult twist. In addition, I would guess there are more than a hundred randomly triggered side stories and events with 200-500 words each. Even after multiple sessions, you won't have seen them all. All throughout, the writing is good, with just about one typo or grammar mistake every 2000 words. Each session has 30 rounds (days) that have two phases. Phase 1 allows you to either increase a stat of your choosing, or "go to the woods" for a chance to increase a random stat by an extra point. Phase 2 allows you to progress the story by meeting either a princess of your choice, or trigger a scripted or random event. Throughout the encounters, you may sometimes get a choice to solve a problem one or the other way, with varying outcomes. Some of them matter later in the game. Each session lasts between 30 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on how fast you read. On subsequent sessions, you may skip through dialog you've already read by holding down a button. However, as soon as you stumble upon any new development you haven't triggered before, the game will stop immediately, giving you a chance to read. In short: For a visual novel, this is a quite mature experience. Writing is good, content is plenty, replay value is great, pictures are decent enough. You will be thoroughly entertained. And, if you can get it on a discount, it is certainly worth both the price and your time.
