Chop trees, plant and grow crops, hunt wildlife, mine ore and fish from the surrounding seas and fjords. From victuals to vikings, manage your resources carefully to ensure you can outlast the winter, and expand your settlement season to season.
Each of your villagers is a character in their own right. With 20+ characteristics, your villagers might be powerfully-built strongmen and women or silver-tongued thespians. Pay attention to skills and abilities when assigning your people to a task. Not all Vikings are alike, nor are they equally good at all jobs!
More Vikings will ask to join your settlement as it grows. You can choose to welcome them or turn them away. Over time, your Vikings will begin new families and give birth to new generations, extending their lineage and strengthening your village.
This land will bring many challenges to your settlement, from earthquakes to fire-starting lightning from the heavens above. Band together and withstand these disasters as best you can.
The seasons bring their own challenges, as do events and disasters. Be ready for storms and blizzards, or just the long deadly cold of the winter season. Prepare firewood and food stores to keep your Vikings warm and fed!
Your neighbors are an excellent resource for goods and gold. Once you build a Trade Dock, ships will visit you with various cargo. You can also send out your own trade missions, so long as you have enough villagers to crew the vessel -- and enough beer to fuel the crew!
But any good Jarl knows that force is the best path to glory. Raid foreign villages to plunder their gold and silver, and gain Fame points. Train and strengthen your Vikings to ensure your victory.
No grids allowed! You can build wherever you want, designing your village as you see fit, and to increase your Vikings’ happiness. Construct monuments to Odin or Freya and customize the look of your Viking ships. You will even be able to modify the look of houses with the Building Editor, in one of the Early Access updates!
Unlock new buildings and bonuses by spending Fame points in the Tree of Life. Discover beer brewing and build a Tavern for your villagers to relax in. Invest in goat farming to gather wool and weave fabric for better clothes. As you create better quality living and resources, your Vikings will become healthier and happier and your settlement will flourish!
Is not a bad game but is not really good either. I dislike the reseacrh tree. It's hidden and we have objectives and I spend points down the wrong tree only to find the oblective in another tree and I have no poinats left! Really could use a forester/woodcutter duo. Contsantly haning to mark trees to cut is annoying I have other things to do. I mever did figure out how to send off a trade ship or make weapons. I hav an iron mine and a coal mine but they are pointless. I guess I did not go down the warrior tree branch enough. I ran out of points. I had to keep paying off a hero that arrived he wanted 5 shields that i couldn't make! Frustrating.
The mouse cursor seems to lag, feels unresponsive. Why can't it be the same as the cursor works on the Desktop and other games?
Also, the UI is way too small. I play on a 50" 4K TV and I have to squint to read the writing, the UI scale adjustment doesn't seem to help much, I hope they work on this. People with poor eyesight would find this game impossible to play. Also, the option to adjust resolution didn't seem to work at all.
Despite these issues I find the game enjoyable, I like the slow pace and relaxed nature. The graphics are attractive with detailed buildings and villagers.
I hope that in future updates the UI will be improved as I really can't play for more than an hour at a time due to the strain on my eyes when trying to read messages and navigate menus.
As I read from publisher or creators, that this game is prototypeish game and they want reviews about it to develop this game further.
Then!!!
If someone who has played a game called Caesar III or SimCity or Age of Empires can surely understand my point. Caesar is surely a very nicely detailed game based how old game it is while Age of Empires was very good of its layout and zoom to the game as well both with Caesar III as been very logically designed to get things done around the map to scroll positions of layout as well zoom stayed in position while investigating some other build or to do list. And then Sim, Speeds in the game is more realistic and functionality while playing is not stressing.
