Darkness descends over the world of Nostria. Conspiracies, sabotage, and necromancy are overshadowing the country. But maybe a saviour – the kingdom's last hope – is already here, to fight back and finally restore peace and order in Nostria!

King’s Bounty II is the long-awaited sequel to the legendary King’s Bounty video games franchise, one of the most iconic representatives of the turn-based RPG genre. Expanding on this legacy with an entirely new epic story, factions, enemies, and new features to forge an open and breaking fantasy world Antara. With the kingdoms in disarray, counties demanding independence, bandits prowl the roads, all the overseas nations have denied the King’s authority over them, and blighted creatures lie in wait for the unwary, new accidental heroes emerge as a last hope.

They are determined to bring order to the chaos. Play as one of them, recruiting, developing, and commanding your personal army on a non-linear adventure of betrayal, sacrifice, and survival. Fighting for your own future, outsmarting enemy in uniquely turn-based combat, making difficult decisions, and experience the intensity of one of the classic sagas in an exciting new way.

IMMERSIVE AND CHARACTER-DRIVEN EPIC STORY

Play as one of three main heroes, rescuing and building your personal army in a journey of leadership, survival, and sacrifice. Every decision you make has profound and lasting consequences.

UNIQUE MASSIVE WORLD TO DISCOVER

The world of Antara is wide open and ripe for exploration. Unearth hidden places and dangerous enemies — Antara is a vast home to a thousand wonders and secrets for players to discover.

CUSTOMIZABLE SQUAD AND EQUIPMENT

Each army squad has its own set of skills and visual appearance. Build armies of different creatures who will fight with you throughout the majority of your adventure.

TACTICAL DEPTH ON THE BATTLEFIELD

The environment and landscape matter in King’s Bounty II. Players will encounter diverse terrain types, directly impacting battlefield tactics. Every battle is unique in its own way.

Review of the bonus stuff.

Left the review for the game itself on the game page so will only go through the extra stuff here: Soundtrack & Artbook - good if you care about this stuff. A couple good tracks in the soundtrack but most of it is nothing stellar. Bonus items and units - AVOID like the plague. They are blatantly overpowered compared to the stuff you can get in the base game and can make the game much easier than it should be. It's basically free cheat codes. The extra set and weapons are far above anything else by the point you can wear them with absolutely overpowered bonuses. There is also a shield with no level requirement that gives +1 morale to all units (which is massive). As far as the units go, every single one of them is a superpowered version of a vanilla unit. King's Dogs have basically tier 2 unit stats on a tier 1 unit. They hit like a truck and you can easily be using them way until mid-early late game. Fire Eagles are buffed normal eagles, which also have an AoE damaging ability that enemies can't retaliate against. Firehand golems are the biggest joke as far as balance goes and are basically an "I win" unit. You also get some skins for a couple of units, but the game doesn't even let you choose if you want the vanilla ones or the DLC ones. Lastly, there is horse armor (seriously), which is just a useless cosmetic which you won't see much anyway, because trying to use the horse in this game is akin to torture.

Too much stuck bugs

I wanted to give 6 stars for this complete edition, but I finally uninstalled the game, bored with invisible walls and expensive reset of bad gameplay skills. I could endure bad horse handling, but was finally fed up with 2 others.

Quite enjoyable

Honestly, I don't get it why people don't like this game. It has everything that a good game must have - relatively short gameplay, at least okish story, good save system, no grinding, adjustable difficulty... Yeah, sure there are some flaws, and I'd prefer relying on traditional fantasy creatures instead of trying to invent new ones. But the game is one to play, enjoy and be done with it. I remained with a good impression and in the end that's what matters.

Sorry, just no

Refunded. It has nothing over the previous King's Bounty games, not even visuals. The combat is extremely simplistic, pacing is horrible (e.g. too slow), there are only a few fights on each map. And the 3rd person over the shoulder camera kills it, in my opinion. How do you want to navigate a KB game like this, when 80% of what you do is exploring the map? Absurd design choice that made the game unnecessarily clunky and hard to read, and effectively destroyed this game, all to appeal the "broader audience" (who didn't give a damn in the first place). Save yourself the time and money and go re-play Armored Princess or Dark Side with a different character. Both 1000x better games than this abomination.

See Evaneself's review below mine

I really only came to review the bonus items. I wrote a review on the forums, which is mostly a wordy and not even as complete version of what Evaneself wrote below, and I already gave rated the game 5 stars there. I agree to an extend with idbeholdME's review a couple more posts down. The bonus units, expecially the Flaming Eagles and the Firehand Golems, punch above their weight in mid and late-game respectively. Together with the Armor Princess's Shield (all of which are pre-order DLC bonus items that I am not sure is even in the Duke's version, may just be in vanilla), these are pretty essential for achievement hunters who have to fight many battles under harsh handicaps I wouldn't know about the other bonus gear since I didn't use them. As for the art book and soundtrack. The soundtrack brings back fond memories of the game. The art book does not do the game justice. I love the art of KB2, and the 20 some pages art book is just underwhelming. I remember looking for the collector's edition on Ebay and almost decided not to buy because of how small the art book is. For shame! Anyway, 4 stars because you get this edition if you want to support the game but the art book is not 5 star material. Not sure if the pre-order bonuses are even in the Duke's edition or the base game.
