Description
The Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition contains award-winning Kingdom Come: Deliverance and all released DLCs.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance You're Henry, the son of a blacksmith. Thrust into a raging civil war, you watch helplessly as invaders storm your village and slaughter your friends and family. Narrowly escaping the brutal attack, you grab your sword to fight back. Avenge the death of your parents and help repel the invading forces!
Treasures of the Past Treasure maps of the lords banished by King Sigismund of Hungary, leading to the hidden treasures of those patriots, bandits and schemers.
From the Ashes As a newly appointed bailiff, you must decide what buildings to erect and what people to bring in, and you must also settle disputes between the villagers. Each building is unique and comes with its own upgrades, material and labour requirements, so you will face some difficult decisions.
The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon The quest DLC revolves around his attempts to woo the fairest maid he has ever set eyes upon, and his success will not depend only on his own mastery of the art of love – it’s also up to his trusty wingman, you - Henry, to ensure that The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon come to a happy end!
Band of Bastards Kingdom Come: Deliverance's third DLC focuses on combat and minor skirmishes. Sir Radzig's old enemies are pillaging his estates, so he enlists the help of an old acquaintance, Kuno of Rychwald, the leader of an infamous mercenary band. Naturally, they need a guide, and who better for the job than Henry?
A Woman's Lot Armed with fortitude and dignity, she faces the coming days with a smile on her lips. And since God moves in mysterious ways, none of us can know the lot we shall have to bear. But it is often those of whom we least expect it who encounter an extraordinary destiny...
Pros: looks good. detailed, HD materials make a nice addition. Unrealistic plot, but it's about what you would expect.
Cons: combat is pretty bad. looses compared to titles like Victis or M&B. Starting quests are poorly documented and poorly realized, and it doesn't really get much better. Conceptually sound, but poorly realized.
Disappointing, but it was on sale, so I can say that it was worth the price... but only the sale price.
expect to dedicate hours of your life to make it past the first combat out of tutorial. not for the casual gamers or those looking for a cool medieval game.
Developers have this nasty habit of not respecting your time. I was all set down ready to enjoy the game, only I clicked through one too many options with no way whatever - in spite of numerous online complaints I later find - to exit the "woman's lot" DLC. Sure, maybe at some point I'd take a whole evening to play through that, but that was not what I wanted to do. Either you have to reload a save and backtrack some hour or more, or grind through the DLC with no option to simply go "Whoops didn't want that now". It's one thing to make that mistake, realize players don't like that, and fix it. It's quite another to be deluged in complaints and have tons of online people talking about the same thing, a lot of reviews too, and do nothing about it. Fix the broken way you handle railroading people. You set up the save system this way, YOU set up the DLC system this way, YOU get one star for it because YOU wasted my time.
The non mechanics gameplay elements, such as the story, music etc are all very nice.
A lot of reviews claim it's realistic. It's not!
You are stuck in place while swinging a weapon; npc enemies can run around and move freely while still attacking.
Not only is this not realistic, it's outright stupid!
Realistic is when you swing a weapon off-balances you, meaning you cannot move while doing it.
Melee has direction attack and blocking, but it's not worth anything more then a mention, as it doesn't make the game any better or worse by itself.
You can set it to auto for direction for easier blocking and attacking.
But no matter what you set it to, the enemies will auto block all your attacks.
The enemy can teleport you from outside their attack range to do melee attacks on you!
Related: Enemies in full heavy armour can outrun your character in nothing but cloth.
The archery is just annoying.
The devs set the game up to HIDE the targetting reticule when you draw the bow.
The is another stupid thing that's the opposite of realistic.
When you practice archery in real life, you essentially have a giant red dot on anything you target and as you gain experience, that dot gets smaller, indicating your knowledge and experience of where the arrow is going to go.
This is the trend throughout the game, almost as if the devs were trying to make the game as onerous and annoying as possible.
Want a lockpick? Pay as much as a low end sword to get a single one.
Want to heal yourself? You can't; you also don't regenerate.
The map implies theres fast travel; but in the first few hours I've been playing, it's been locked out.
This games mechanics detract from experiencing the story.
I can't see anyone honestly enjoying these mechanics.
Normal game mechancs are an adaptation between real life and providing in game additions that simulate what you would have in real life; the targetting reticule on archery is one that's very obvious to anyone who's done archery in real life.
