Description

The first DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance introduces an entirely new type of adventure! You have an opportunity to participate in building a new village from the ground up and experience first-hand what it was like to create a new settlement.

As a newly appointed bailiff, you must decide what buildings to erect and what people to bring in, and you must also settle disputes between the villagers. Each building is unique and comes with its own upgrades, material and labour requirements, so you will face some difficult decisions.

A bailiff's lot is not an easy one, but he can still enjoy some fun after a hard day's work. Get yourself one of the new horses available and take it for a ride, throw a few dice against seasoned players in your new local tavern, match your skills against variously skilled opponents in your combat arena or just rest at home in your own comfortably furnished house.

Good concept, but a flawed experience

You can start this quest too early. That's probably the biggest problem When you get the quest you are a poor blacksmiths son, and you are given the task of not only rebuilding a town, but financing it too??? In the beginning it costs a lot of money just to pay the workers, every single day. And if you don't you can end up failing the quest, which leads to the dlc just disappearing. If you go to do something else to progress the story or earn money to pay your workers, you can end up failing the quest just because you get hold up in some kind of story event

It's a great DLC

I wish I had gotten the game on GoG instead of steam, especially since there's no workshop support. Anyway this is a great little DLC. The devs originally had no plans for it, but people kept expressing interest in the forums, so they made it. How cool is that? It's definitely worth $10, it's a nice expansion to the game that adds a lot of enjoyment and makes gameplay more rewarding.

Awesome DLC, but a bit disappointing

I just did my Second playthrough of KCD, and this time with all the DLCs. I didn't have any of them the first time. When I started this quest and found out you could actually rebuild Pribyslavitz from the ashes, like a strategy game. I got hysterically happy and it was awesome. I totally skipped all other quests and just focused on this one. However, when the city was built. No more villagers were complaining, no more decisions that would affect the income. Nothing more to build, even though Sir Divish told about an expansion. I was totally expecting to be able to build more buildings later on in the game. There were still wooden stumps and the church yarden still had uncut grass. I wanted to make everything beautiful and a litte bit more happenings and quests. But when it was done...it was basically over. Just a place to grab tens of thousands of groshen...that you don't need anymore at that stage. So conclusion, it was very awesome until all buildings were set up. Then I just felt emptiness and disappointment. I would like a DLC From the Ashes 2.0 where you extend the DLC with more stuff. More buildings, more choices so it becomes less linear and more decisions and quests and stuff to do. Make it your home. I want to feel it's my home for real as a Bailiff. Why not let Theresa move in with me there etc?

Great addition!

I enjoyed the hell out of this dlc.. I only wish there were was more useable gear introduced with the dlc, and the settlement itself felt more alive.. But I thoroughly enjoyed building it up, and I got plenty of time out of it, playing it during my play through I think many people have the main game beaten, then buy the dlc, and steam through it and wonder why its over so fast. I enjoyed this one, Band of Bastards, and Sir Hans Capon perfectly well, while playing them during my campaign, and did not feel slighted, or short, while doing so. Ofcourse, I actually 'role play' my rpgs, and dont treat them like a videogame.

Another bad DLC

Why is it so absurdly expensive to build the village? I would need to grind for hours and hours to be able to afford it, and that's considering the fact that I had already finished the main questline. Why not have some interesting mechanics to actually earn income from the village or get some sort of starter loan? It's painfully obvious they just didn't think this one through at all.
