Game:

You're Henry, the son of a blacksmith. Thrust into a raging civil war, you watch helplessly as invaders storm your village and slaughter your friends and family. Narrowly escaping the brutal attack, you grab your sword to fight back. Avenge the death of your parents and help repel the invading forces!

Story:

Bohemia – located in the heart of Europe, the region is rich in culture, silver, and sprawling castles. The death of its beloved ruler, Emperor Charles IV, has plunged the kingdom into dark times: war, corruption, and discord are tearing this jewel of the Holy Roman Empire apart. One of Charles' sons, Wenceslas, has inherited the crown. Unlike his father, Wenceslas is a naive, self-indulgent, unambitious monarch. His half-brother and King of Hungary, Sigismund the Red Fox, senses weakness in Wenceslas. Feigning good will, Sigismund travels to Bohemia and kidnaps his half-brother. With no king on the throne, Sigismund is now free to plunder Bohemia and seize its riches.

In the midst of this chaos, you're Henry, the son of a blacksmith. Your peaceful life is shattered when a mercenary raid, ordered by King Sigismund himself, burns your village to the ground. By bittersweet fortune, you are one of the few survivors of this massacre.

Without a home, family, or future you end up in the service of Lord Radzig Kobyla, who is forming a resistance against the invasion. Fate drags you into this bloody conflict and shoves you into a raging civil war, where you help fight for the future of Bohemia.
  • Massive realistic open world: Majestic castles, vast fields, all rendered in stunning high-end graphics.
  • Non-linear story: Solve quests in multiple ways, then face the consequences of your decisions.
  • Challenging combat: Distance, stealth, or melee. Choose your weapons and execute dozens of unique combos in battles that are as thrilling as they are merciless.
  • Character development: Improve your skills, earn new perks, and forge and upgrade your equipment.
  • Dynamic world: Your actions influence the reactions of the people around you. Fight, steal, seduce, threaten, persuade, or bribe. It’s all up to you.
  • Historical accuracy: Meet real historical characters and experience the genuine look and feel of medieval Bohemia.

Good game, few bugs, too easy end game

You will read a lot of reviews here saying its a great game, but bugged. I must say i found this to be alright. I think there was only 1 minor side quest i couldn't do because it was badly bugged. Rest of the game i was able to finish without any troubles. The saving system is a problem, but only for the beginning. Ill give you the truth about it. 1) There is a mod to get around this and be able to save at any time 2) Very soon into the game you will be very very rich and you can buy as many save potions as you want 3) You can make save potions with alchemy, its not hard, its easy. So don't worry about all the talk about the saving system. The 2 problems i have with the game, besides it being the greatest rpg on pc for a long while, is how easy it gets. And mind you, im really bad a gameplay. Dark souls owns me untill the very end. But this game, albeit me being sucky after 100hours and finishing, is way too easy. Your skills (Strenght, Sword/axe/mace etc) scale way to hard. Even if you dont exploit any ways to get skills early, you still level up quickly. At some point you'll be around lvl 10 in swords and strenght and you will 1 shot any knight in mail. Its stupid. Your killing dozens of enemys with 1 blow. I mean i still get killed by swarms of bandits sometimes, but the combat is so stupidly easy. You should look into mods fixing this untill its balanced. Or use bad weapons, weapons you have a bad skillrating at etc. The other problem is getting richt. After couple hours i had infinite money. You kill bandits etc for side quests, you sell all their gear at a town you have a high reputation, and voila' you made 4-5k. Do it 10 times. and after 2/3 hours you can do whatever you want in the game. So if you want it to keep fun and challenging, dont use to many exploits. Play it as intended, no save mod, use bad weapons, light armour, try to depend on fight skills rather than scaled stats.

Very Good but Flawed

This is the best RPG I played since the Witcher 3... however it is no Witcher 3. The quality of this game is excellent - the combat mechanics, the horse riding, the RPG system, survival elements (eat and sleep), healing and taking care of your equipment. The gameplay as it were is really good and fun. My gripe is with the story. This is a long game (60+ hours). There are side quests, however mostly you will be doing the main quest and this is where I have issues with the game. There are very few choices you can make, even during dialogue. You are not shaping the character of Henry, you are guiding him along the rails. You cannot determine what he will say (apart from some meaningless persuade/intimidate/charm interactions outside of the main quest). You have multiple ways how to achieve an objective, however the result is always the same. There are no long-lasting effects of your decisions, because you make no decisions. There are also no multiple endings. There is one. And oh yes, the ending. There is none. I play for the Story and stay for the Gameplay. This game really made me enjoy as much content as there was, but when I finally hit the end credits and after a short epilogue was booted into the main menu I felt very... cheap. The proper term would be sequel-bait. As is the game does not feel finished. The story is not resolved. There is no closure. To be continued in a sequel or a dlc! And just like with movies and TV-Shows a good ending can make a bad movie awesome. A bad ending can break an otherwise really good movie. I feel like this is the case. I can recommend playing this game for the journey it offers, however be prepared that there is no satisfying conclusion of any kind. And after finishing it once and seeing the ending that /is/ here, I feel discouraged at a second playthrough. Having almost no replay value outside of some side quests and persuasion interactions, there is no replayability here.

Marvelous medieval game

It's a really great game, despite some bugs (and I'm sure Warhorse is working a lot to fix them) it really doesn't spoil the game. Beautiful visuals, story, upgrading system and realistic medieval lore: there are no dragons, wizards nor race. At the begining, you have a lot to learn and traveling is a big risk, but after you train, pratice and learn you can go wherever you want. I really love this game, medieval fans should get it!

great game

Kingdome Come: Deliverance is a great game, putting a lot of emphasis on realistic picturing of medieval Bohemia. It is really not that hard, just not simplistic. One problem I have is with the GOG version. I play the steam version without any problems, however the GOG version shows lot of graphical glitches, which is a shame, because this game's graphics are amazing.
