Kingdom Come: Deliverance

The game is full of great and good ideas that are let down by developer's obvious lack of abilities required to pull it off. Game's been heavily criticized for numerous bugs and glitches, even now, 10 months after release there're some stinkers to be found. Combat that was supposed to be realistic is quite fun, but terrible AI ruins immersion. Enemy archers won't switch to sword when you get into melee range, even worse - your attacks don't have any effect on them, they carry aiming and shooting arrows as if they weren't whacked with a sword. Another bug - during initial meeting with Hans Capon - he partakes in archery contest in his undergarments and during sword fight he uses only his fists. There are also instances of "realism" taking over actual fun - you cant pick up multiple objects from ground (e.g. arrows), you have to pick each and every one separately which is more of time waste than anything else. Dialogues in this game are a bit dull, and main hero is annoying first of all. All in all this is fun, but terribly flawed experience.

It was a pleasure to play it, one of the best game for a decade. Character building is non annoying, when you use some skills you get better. it looks nice, there are interesting mechanics like brewery and sharping your sword, horse riding, bow, stealth - lot of fun.

The game is very good, the world is realy medieval and obeys religion, the lords and the feudal system of Böhmen. Everyone and everything is medieval, except the retarded son of a smith you play as. It is a bit like you take a person from modern time, put it into the middle ages and cringe when it brakes every fucking single law and convention. You visit a new town and got with a lot of luck a job in the city guard? And the law says that taverns must close at sunset? Oh the fucking lord of the city sits there with 2 guards and keeps drinking. The person whose word is the law. What do you do as a member of the lowest cast? Start a fight and beat the shit out of him. This is not even optional you have to insult the lord and you have to fight him. Even if you run away the game does not recognize it. What should happen is you lose your head and it will be put on pike on the gate of the town. To remind everyone what happens if someone dares to attack the lord. Don't fuck with nobility in the middle ages. The reason is, that could decide to have you executed if they want too and there was no kind of due process. And I think the game would have done this, if a NPC had done something this retarded. But as the hero... you get a job as assistant for the lord. WTF... . I like brave characters who take risks, but I don't like borderline retarded idiots who commit suicide. And to be forced to play as one of the idiots.

The game is using Cryengine. Why don't more games use Cryengine these days? Because it's garbage. Even crooks who are developing Start Citizen had to rewrite most of Cryengine after they licensed it, that speaks volumes. Wolcen is another recent game using Cryengine is also full of bugs and terrible performance. I still haven't played this game properly because I can't get decent performance on a 10900K. There is a good game somewhere underneath, maybe after 3-4 new CPU generations it will run properly.

Great game! Very realistic. However some game mechanics are extremely difficult and frustrating >.< kind of ruins the fun for me.
