KING OF THE MONSTERS

I had a chance to play this wayback when it was in the arcade machines, but now that I'm playing it again in 2018, I'm having ambivalent feelings about this game. The game itself runs fine on my Win7 box which is great. The problem is there are no instructions on how to play this game! Since I've forgotten how to play this many years later. The controls are not explained well in-game which only exacerbates the confusing game mechanics. Also the AI for this game (in my opinion) is extremely difficult, even on the lowest difficulty settings. The unlimited continues feature is extremely useful in this case. I picked this up during a sale so I don't regret it, but unless you're a big fan of the game I will have to give this a pass or buy with a deep discount.

Classic Neo Geo and old school gaming at its finest.

I'm fine with the dotemu releases but if you have Steam, add it as a non-Steam game and enable controller support. Aside from that, this isn't my favorite SNK game.

I really liked this game in the arcade and I knew what I'm getting myself into buying it on GOG a platform I am starting to really use more and more for gaming. I do not mind supporting the overall platforms with games like these and love the fact we can see older arcade titles for sale on GOG. I cannot honestly try and sell someone on a game that is for me a very personal preference except to say KotM fulfills my preferences gaming wise and I really hope GOG would release Part 2 already which is in my opinion a far superior game gameplay wise and it resembles a side scrolling beat em up where this is simply just a fighter. I think some of these obviously need work but please if you see this would you guys start selling KotM2 already? It is a great buy and on sale it is a fine purchase for the current sales price.
