Boring RNG heavy with little skill
There's a lot of text, which I'd be fine with if the writing was good. It's not. Biggest problem though is the RNG and the general guessing - which really relies little on skill at all. You can make the perfect choice and still fail the majority of the time. Heroquests are the worst combination of the bad writing and RNG. It's like those writing comprehension standardized tests from school, though the writing is arguably even more stale. Only difference is if you get the answer right, you still fail. Sure, you can prep for this in other ways, to very minimal effect. But it's overall convoluted, unfair and no fun. Chalk it all up to poor game design and balance. Problem is, this frustrating turd is addicting, like an itch you keep scratching when the real cure is just to leave it alone. Leave it alone.

I really want it!
This and so many classics, like Master of Orion and Baldur's Gate 2, are what make the old days worth more than what comes out today.

A Wasted Day
The game itself seems like it could be fun. However, for me, it's more or less broken. I've had one ctd. I've had two campaigns get stuck on the exploration screen. It gets bugged out and I can't leave the screen, so I have to crash the game. All campaigns won't restore any saved games. It has quite a bit of meat to it, I think. Unfortunately I can't get to it, since it is more or less entirely unusable to me.
