All while moving from location to location on your sweet hog and getting into all sorts of trouble!
Kathy is a strong-willed journalism major who must come to terms with her troubled past as she investigates the mysterious death of her recently departed grandfather.
Armed with her motorcycle, a pack of cigs, and a notepad, Kathy delves into a local mystery surrounding her hometown that will take her on a harrowing journey of emotional and personal turmoil.
As she follows a trail of clues left by her grandfather, questions emerge: What was Joseph Rain really looking for that night all those years ago? What turned him into a mere shell of a man, confined to a wheelchair? What secret did a suicidal young artist take with her to the grave, and why are so many people in Conwell Springs going mad? The truth is dark, sinister, and yours to uncover…

Writing is great, the story is great, the controls are OK (even though, inventory popping shoud've been a hover, really).
*But*. There is a big but. The game introduces the mechanic of recalling names and locations, however there is a gap between identifying a significance of a name as a player and the character understanding it.
Even on day 1 there is one moment where you need to figure out how to prove the game that your character wants to collect information about C.W. (no spoilers here!).
And the ridiculous thing about it is that I've figured out the further steps of the puzzle even before it unfolded just by being stuck, so it felt even worse being gatekeeped from actually performing the actions.
P.S.
Let Kathy send faxes to E!
Most of the reviews here discuss the controls or the puzzles, which are all OK/serviceable - however, there are parts of the protagonist's backstory that are *dark* and not telegraphed in any way in most reviews/trailers. Even the GOG page only says that Kathy has a "troubled past" but there are things about playing her that will offend some people immediately (I feel). These things are not only mentioned in passing, they are important plot elements and are visualized throughout the whole game up to the very end. If you have played "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream", it's similar to the "yellow episode", but worse, especially since the overall tone of the game never quite matches these individual elements. So just putting this out here: content warnings: mental illness, abortion.
At first I was very excited about this retro-style quest. Retro-graphics looks even ugly sometimes and it is kinda charmingly nostalgic to me. Riddles are adequate and interesting at most, solvable by brainwork and not pixel-hunting. Story in the beginning looks interesting and mysterious enough. Voice acting is good in pair with character's emotions icons.
Sadly, what starts as town's great mystery, becomes just main character internal problems in the end. Mysteries will stay unsolved at most, story lines leading nowhere, no alternative endings. Game is too short for it's story's scope.
Don't be overexcited by the look of the game, and they maybe you will become satisfied by it.
