Kathy Rain

As puzzle-adventures go, KR falls on the narrative driven side, along the lines of a simpler Gabriel Knight game. I had a good time with the narative and the characters here. There is some good writing pulling through this whole adventure. Puzzles range from fairly simple deductions of the available items and narrative cues, to a few that are a bit taxing. But there is no moon-logic, and probably nothing that will really hurt even if you dislike when this genre gets too abstract. I had some trouble two or three times, but in all cases I had the right idea, I jst wasn't executing the right way. So don't let it worry you if you're concerned you'll spend half the game in a guide. Kathy Rain has good characters, it's well written. I think if you're interested enough to bother reading reviews, you will enjoy this game.

Kathy Rain has a ton of charm, the protagonist is fun and engaging, the 90s Twin Peaks atmosphere works great, good voice acting, nice pixel art. More importantly the puzzles are logical and somewhat engaging, no moon logic bullshit or pace breaking difficulty.

A well-made game with the nostalgic feeling for the good old days of the 90's. Personally, I prefer a little more detective and a little less mystical, but it was still a pleasure to play. Especially loved the part dealing with the background story of one of the secondary characters. Hilarious.

I started the game and got hooked immediately because this was exactly the kind of game I expected to play. It has that nice small team indie feeling around it. Someone who wants to tell a nice story. The puzzles were good and I only had to google up a hint at one single place (Goober outside hospital thing), but I was expecting the game to be at least double the size of length to go deeper into the storyline and reveal more facts that would have surprised me. When I thought I was somewhere in the middle of the game, it was actually close to the end. So it was not really clear "where" in the game I was. But since I played it from start to end without being annoyed by very much, I have to give it 4 of 5.

Lengthy storyline which I liked, not a quick game. Overall enjoyable
