Dive into an adrenaline-fuelled free-roaming adventure!
As agent Rico Rodriguez, your orders are to find and kill your friend and mentor who has disappeared on the island paradise of Panau. There, you must cause maximum chaos by land, sea and air to shift the balance of power. With the unique grapple and parachute combo, BASE jump, hijack and create your own high-speed stunts. With 400 square miles of rugged terrain and hundreds of weapons and vehicles, Just Cause 2 defies gravity and belief.
Features:
UNIQUE VERTICAL GAMEPLAY - Take to the air like no other game. Experience total aerial freedom with the unique parachute and dual grapple
UNBELIEVABLE ADRENALINE-FUELLED STUNTS - Free fall, base jump, vehicle surf, para sail, skydive, grapple, slingshot, leap between vehicles, hang from helicopters, scale buildings. The impossible is within your grasp.
UPGRADED DUAL GRAPPLE - Your best tool is now a weapon. Fire two shots with the grapple hook and attach unwilling enemies to high-speed vehicles, hang them upside down from buildings, tether objects in mid air. The possibilities are as vast as your imagination.
DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF PANAU - Explore the island paradise; from sprawling cities, secluded beaches and towering mountain peaks – more than 400 square miles of your own personal playground.
EXPERIENCE TRUE FREEDOM - Hundreds of objectives can be completed in any way or order that you choose. When it’s time for a break from Agency business, kick back and enjoy all the attractions that Panau has to offer.
MASSIVE SELECTION OF VEHICLES - Catch air on a high-speed dirt bike, race across the sea in a power boat, or fire a spread of rockets from an attack chopper – more than 100 land, sea and air vehicles are yours for the taking.
This game is one of the best sandbox titles ever made, so it is worth the asking price. That said make sure to either turn off Decals in the settings or try applying the fix linked below. I also made a video showing the game for you in case you are curious:

The Fix:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Just_Cause_2#Possible_crash_fix
One of the best Open-World games of the last decade, and for many fans the best in the entire series!
Just Cause 2 has you playing as Rico Rodriguez, a shoot-first-ask-questions-later hero, who specializes in... toppling El Presidente's level megalomaniacal dictators.
This game is packed full with adrenaline. There's no time for subtelty or stealth here - you grapple in on your grappling hook inside a base, attach thermal detonators to some explosive structures, set them off, watch the fireworks, and shoot any survivors. All without a moment to breathe. After the dust has settled you can sit in the ruins and watch one of the most beautiful sunsets that your PC could render. Just another day in the glorious life of Rico Rodriguez.
This game is strict high-octane action and fun! fun! fun! There is no ambitious plot, but the developers are not trying to convince you otherwise. Just plain and simple chaos, mayhem and merriment. And Panau (the open world in Just Cause 2) is one of the biggest playgrounds a player could wish for.
Don't think any longer about this. It's a great series, It's a fenomenal, nostalgic title. It's a good price for what you're gonna get in the end (+all DLC's). And it's a game that many waited for years to be able to finally play it on GOG! Go buy it now and wreak some havoc!
I bought this originally on Steam after playing the demo for 15 mins and have 203 hrs on it there.
I never played the original Just Cause and came into the series on JC2 but do own all subsequent versions on steam however this one is the one I would go back to playing again.
If you enjoy just wandering the countryside blowing things up and general mayhem this is for you. The story is open world sandbox and can proceed at your own pace similar to the Elder Scroll games. What blew me away at the time was the destructibility and the seamless transitions between the various eco-types when flying around.
I found the vehicles to be a little sloppy while driving with Keyboard/mouse so a gamepad is recommended for that ( what driving game isn't that way to be honest?) but KBM is still viable.
There was a multiplayer mod on the steam version however I am not sure if it transitioned over to the GOG version (can't see it in the store page) but this game also is just fun on it's own in single player.
If you are looking to just do some sandbox mayhem definitely look into this game as it's worth the price of admission.
An enormous living world, with diverse regions to explore.
The story is B movie quality at best - yet it adds to the fun factor instead if getting in the way. Some basic mission types are repetitive, yet it's hard to avoid that in such a large game. And the physics... well, let's say it is there to enhance the fun instead of getting in the way.
You kidnap a jet, fly a couple thousand miles in the air, jump out of it and you survive without ever opening a parachute. Why? Because 15 meters before the ground you use the grappling hook and grapple yourself to the ground. You the take a motorbike and go on a tour around the island. You go through deserts, forests, fields of flowers, and finally reach the snowy mountains. And of course you can climb the highest peak to get the achievement.
Oh, and everything around you goes "kaboom!". The chaos of every enemy encounter is incredibly satisfying. The weapons of distruction are diverse and simply fun. The vehicles are well balanced. But the mentioned grappling hook is the star of the show. You could easilly make the best Spiderman game around this gameplay element alone.
If you got bored by taking your cousin bowling in GTA IV this was the better game when it was released. And it still is. Pure "I don't give a fudge" camp fun.
For the time this was the best open world mayhem game. Thou before you play use the 100% Completion mod and Bullseye Rifle Fix. Story for the game is weak thou this game is played not for the story but for the fun of destroying enemies base's.
