Description
Janosik is a retro action-platformer metroidvania. It's fast-paced, challenging, and full of secrets to discover while exploring its big and interconnected world.

The game is completely FREE and with no microtransactions!


Janosik's companions were captured by the evil Count Von Zur and it’s up to you to find and rescue them from the prison. Explore hand-drawn pixel art world, find secrets, jump over deadly obstacles, roll and attack enemies, collect gold coins and find upgrades.

Janosik will give you about 2 hours of single-player retro platforming fun.


Janosik was a legendary Slovak highlander rogue. According to the legend, he robbed nobles and gave the loot to the poor, just like Robin Hood. The game is based on popular legends in which Janosik had special magical items given to him (usually) by witches. Those items gave him superhuman strength, protected him from bullets, or gave him the ability to jump over the trees. In some legends, Janosik fights with supernatural beings.

We took inspiration from the legends both for this game and the upcoming Janosik 2, and highly recommend that you read more about this hero if you enjoyed playing our retro platformer.

Best action adventure ever

Ha, Jánošík a hero of my homeland :). In game music is nice. He took from the rich and gave to the poor. And in my nature language too (Slovak). I am very pleased. Programers done good job. Very funny game

Short, but very climatic platformer

This game is short (up to 4hs of play), but it will let you rest. Pros: - relaxing - story using Polish traditional hero - Janosik - nice boss-fights - nice music! - nice pixelart graphics - IT'S FREE! <3 Cons: - steering - especially double-jump - is a little bit chunky - too short :) but second part is in production

I love it

A beautiful game. It is not so hard, the difficulty is just right. It takes around 2.5h to beat it. I love the setting, I love the fight system. I had fun and if you like platformers highly recommend it!

wow great fun platformer

hard to believe it's free. cute and well developed. controls are responsive. levels are nicely designed with some challenge and secrets. there is combat and ability progression and nice bosses. first three bosses have been a bit face-tanky. I will definitely be finishing this and checking out the other offerings from these devs
