Iron Harvest

- First of all, this game has amazing music. - Great gameplay, though the pathfinding is not that great sadly. - The endings of the DLCs weren't that great sadly though the DLCs are nice by themselves, I loved the story. - The story in the game is very well made, I love how they all get together and it makes sense, though I'd like to know more about Fenris than they showed before. It might not be a next-gen RTS game, but I loved it as it is, I have nothing bad to talk about it than the endings of the DLCs.

It might not reach the highs that other RTS it's emulating have reached, specially on the gameplay side. But damn, the characters are very likeable, the designs are great and so is the sound design.

I liked this game very much. The campaign was interesting for me. I like the setting of the game. I had a few bugs in the "Showdown" mission where I had to reload a save because I couldn't continue, but otherwise I didn't run into any other bugs. I haven't tried the multiplayer, so I can't judge it

So story wise, it is very interesting. Without spoiling too much, the whole pre-text was explained rather concisely and while it isn't new or innovating, it still kept me interested with how they conducted the story telling. Only thing that bothered me, or that didn't hold as much weight as the rest were the characters. Not that they had anything wrong or boring, but that the game, for proper character development, was too short. I loved Janek, but wish I'd see more. Granted i did not finish the game yet, still playing, but I'm already far in and noticed the little time skips. Even with the flashback arc. Gameplay wise, nothing new or impressive, yet not boring. The mechanics of improving troops through other methods really felt like what the story of the game indented, basically playing as a ragtag team who has to improvise often against mighty odds. Unfortunately, that quickly dissipated when you could just create the mech units and clear the levels. Otherwise, I would have loved to see it at a larger scale. Not just for more complex battle, but to truly see the scales of the mechs. They sometime feel rather small. Also the interaction with the environment, either from unofficial or official side quest are a nice touch that makes the game feel alive. On that note, artistically speaking the environment and illustration were nice. The design & sound were all great, and the idea to earn coins to get a different set of loading screen design was cute but nice. It would have been great if the alternate skins for troops were more prominent, but it was okay. Overhaul, I am enjoying the game and I would recommend this one to RTS players. The campaign is a must to really enjoy and lastly, if ever there is a sequel coming up i would get it, but I would still judge my decision based if feedbacks, if some, were implemented.

I got the definitive edition on discount and it's worth the money. I only play campaign or coop vs bots.
