Masterwork! The Intravenous experience, as it was meant to be!

Experience the game where it all began the way the developer intended the game to be.
Various new features present in Intravenous 2 were meant to be included in the first game, but were ultimately cut due to time & budget constraints.
This campaign port is as much a port as it is "Intravenous 1 2.0" - keeping the feel of the original, while adapting the game levels to the new gameplay mechanics of the sequel, and bringing a level of polish to the overall package to make it a much better experience all around.

This is where it all began...remastered!
I won't write a thorough review because I already did that with IV2, and IV1 Remaster plays the same as IV2. What I thought would be useful this one time is to comment on how this works and a few details the buyer should be aware of. This is a remaster of IV1 using the gameplay of IV2. I never played the original IV, so I can't really comment on that front; how it's different or whether it's worth buying this remaster if you already own the original game. I guess, if you think IV2 is much better than IV1 (plays better and feels better), then the answer is in all likelihood a resounding yes. Before you buy it though, the first thing you need to know is that you need to own IV2 in order to play this remastered campaign; this is not a standalone game you can buy and play, but more of a DLC that happens to be the full IV game. The other thing worth noting is that you need to go to "new campaign" and select IV1 in order to play it. I was confused at first, as I thought I'd get a choice between games in the main menu, but clicking around I realised that it's simply added as a different campaign. On IV1 we play as Steve, a young lad who's lost his brother to a handful of low-life druggies and wants to take revenge on them. Aided by a mysterious benefactor, you'll have to target different drug lords and their gangs. I did like the story in this one too. Revenge is no doubt a strong motivation, and under those circumstances people can become very nasty and tunnel vision. Not only when they think they're right, but if, in addition, they believe their targets are not worthy of being treated like humans, or a fair trial, then that is a recipe for disaster. There are twists and turns in the story I don't want to spoil, so I won't go into further details. I think having a few more forks and decisions with actual consequences would be a great addition to any future sequels (wink wink, nudge nudge). What can I say? I think it deserves 9/10.
