Infinite Space III: Sea of Stars is a starship roguelite--A fully randomized sandbox adventure game of interstellar exploration and combat. Travel from star to star, discover strange artifacts and lifeforms, upgrade your ship with new systems and weapons, build up your flotilla with allies and mercenaries, and take on a variety of alien menaces.

  • Dozens and dozens (and dozens) of unique aliens, starships, artifacts, ship systems, characters, places, weapons, lifeforms, events and special "save the galaxy" quests.
  • Thoughtful encounter and event randomization, lots of surprises, and varied conclusions assure a different experience each time the game is played.
  • More content than can be experienced in many plays.
  • Hybrid turn-based/node to node starfield movement; real time combat (pause with spacebar) with a sort of Star Trek-like "naval" battle style.
  • Quick to pick up, easy to play yet challenging to master.
  • Game completion is brisk (less than an hour) yet full of details to ponder.
  • Great for kids 5th grade and up! (Reading ability is required.)
  • A range of difficulty options.
  • Full combat simulator mode so you can play with all of the starships, starship systems, weapons, and more right away. Nothing to unlock!


Sea of Stars continues the Digital Eel tradition of featuring whimsical game art--this time with a host of terrific artists (Max Woodrow, Derelict from American McGee's Alice, W. Ralph Walters, Denis Loubet & more!) that make beings, items, creatures, and exploration to different stars and new worlds actually look and feel alien.
Sound montages and incidental music by The Mystery Kitchen (Rich Carlson).
Bonus: A 4800x6000px poster-sized artwork of evil Primordius: Dread Lord of the Dark Traverse by W. Ralph Walters is also included.

Very short and fun after learning curve

This is a good game. There's a lot of rng involved in encounters, and so you can get trapped in bad rng and die quickly. There are counters to the negative encounters out there, and your job is to find them. It's a fun little game once you understand how it works.
