Description

On the evening of the fall of the Berlin wall, a young woman plunges headlong into a parallel dimension to find her missing work colleague who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. While the checkpoints in East Berlin are still being overrun by crowds of people, Nora escapes from this world, into unknown layers of time and into an unknown fate.

  • Profound story: Experience a classic story-driven first-person shooter with about 4 hours of gameplay
  • Tight atmosphere: Dive into a lovingly designed world full of mystery and lynchesque surreality
  • Deadly danger: Enemies lurk around every corner - defend yourself with 4 different weapons
  • Unique setting: Berlin at the time of the fall of the wall meets a surreal industrialized city
  • Experimental soundtrack: Synthesizer, acoustic instruments and melancholic vocals

Berlin, 9th November 1989: The streets are full of people. After four decades of division, thousands of cars are rolling across the inner-German border. The Wall is finally open!

At the same time a man disappears in a secret research facility near East Berlin. His goodbye message reaches you too late. You drive back to the office, where the State Security has already destroyed all records of the research project. The complex is deserted and empty.

The search for Walter takes you deep into the center of the facility - right into the heart of the universe, where time seems to stand still. The dark secret lurks - well hidden - behind the curtain. In the end, it is horrible insights and the questions of responsibility that make you dive deeper and deeper into a strange, surreal yet familiar world.

I always try to support indie devs...

Let me start off by saying that I always try to support small independent developers if I think they have a good idea. It’s the only way great games will continue to be made. People have to take risks. With that: Warning there be minor spoilers ahead… Story In this game you play as Nora in search of Watler. You go to a parallel universe where you have to fight robots and find out what happened to him. With help you figure out what happened. The story ends abruptly as if it is the first act of a three-part play. Gameplay The gameplay consists of three things: Solving puzzles, platforming, gunplay. Solving puzzles is trivial. At no point doing this game will you be confused on how to solve a puzzle. Platforming is boring and Nora has almost no jump height. Having you move a crate from one spot to another so that you can jump onto it is going to be the best platforming is going get. Gunplay in one word; unsatisfying. Guns are not satisfying to shoot, enemies hardly react to them and they do inconsistent damage. Sometimes a shotgun blast is a One-Shot kill and sometimes it'll take two or three shells to put down an enemy. The pistol is useless due to the limited ammo that you receive; the same is true for the SMG. The bolt action rifle is powerful but ammo is scarce, I believe I only saw maybe 10 to 12 rounds for the entire playthrough. Which leaves the shotgun which is probably going to be the go-to weapon that you use for the majority of the game. Technical Issues The game does not support Ultra widescreen resolutions as its vert- the image. Ray tracing is poorly implemented and adds very little to the overall graphical fidelity of the game. You are better off turning all of the advanced graphical features off for the added FPS. Personal Observations This game is short, I beat it in 3.5 hours. It is linear. Difficulty is poorly implemented. Will uninstall and never play again. Buy for $10 or less.

A great game, a bad release

This game is excellent, good mechanics and understands very well the grace of a "half life-like" game, the problem is given by the large number of bugs and technical problems, besides that in the graphics options section, some do not do much sense, shadows in low completely breaks the setting of the game and causes graphic errors, this same option in medium demand the same as in high and only in the latter the setting and lights is correct, I would like to be able to recommend this game, because the The problem is not its gameplay, it is the packaging, unreal engine 4

Good atmosphere but lacking

I love FPS adventures, and this game got some good things going for it. The best is its atmosphere, including level design and visuals. Combat feels good too. But it suffers from the mysterious narrative virus many games have nowadays. It has a complex story but i wasn't able to understand it because of how fragmented it is (bits and pieces in papers and logs scatered around) and when there is dialogue, very little is explained. The ending is especially frustantig, with a short cryptic dialogue that answer little and leave it at that. It feels like we're given crumbs of a delicious bread that we never see. It also could use more music.

Cool, short game, worth to play

A cool game, absolutely worth buying and playing. The coolest thing about this game is the it's orginal theme, the mystique and unique mechanical enemies and scenery that makes the game good for me. The bads: I encountered a few bugs while playing, sometimes a savegame could later in the hang up the game, So I needed you load from an autosave. It sometimes also has some framerate bug that accur. I had mostly +100 - + 120 FPS gameplay but suddently my FPS dropped down to 13 FPS and gpu usage was then down to about 10%. Restarted the game and it went up to the usual + 100 FPS that I usualy had again. While the graphics is good, it's a long way from perfect. But since this game got some unique things to it. It surely is sometiming different from anything else. I got really hooked on this game. despites it's few technically issues, I could play it for hours on end whitout a pause. Don't let the little slow paced start of the game fool you. When you get it going, it's sure a lot of fun! Had a great time.

Horribly unoptimised

This game seems amazing with a great world and wonderful atmosphere. The combat is pretty solid, I love the design of the SMG. This game is just horribly optimised to the point that it becomes really not fun to play. My computer can play Days Gone, a big open world game, at high settings with no issues and a consistent FPS. This game however constantly stutters when playing at all low settings with a sub 720p resolution. I would be fine needing to play the game at 720p medium settings if I got a consistent framerate, but the game just can't get a good framerate no matter how low I turn the settings. I'd love to see more of this world but it's hard to see the world when I need to play at 3ds resolutions. Looking around is extremely laggy, motion blur usually does a good job at hiding any lag from turning quickly but the motion blur in this game just seems not to work. This game could be really fun, I think the team that made it are really talented, I just have a very hard time having fun with this game because of the issues with how it runs. When this game gets an update I'll try it again to see if that helps, and I am interested to see what bleakmill does next. I would only play this game if you have a very powerful computer that is able to handle raytracing in other titles, if not, I'd wait for more updates.
