Alan Fischer directs Ambrosio his adaptation of M. G. Lewis’s notorious Gothic novel The Monk. He casts unknown Marissa Marcel as the infamous Matilda.
John Durick writes his thriller Minsky with Marcel in mind. Set in New York City, the movie concerns the death of a famous artist and Marissa stars as the muse suspected of murdering him.
For his swansong, Durick teams up with Marcel again as she returns from a lengthy hiatus. The movie Two of Everything is a subversive thriller which explores the duality between a successful pop star and her body double.
None of these movies is ever released. They are thought to be lost or destroyed.
The game interface is horrible and isn't intuitive at all, which makes the game frustrating as you try to figure out how to manuver within it. I've uninstalled it and I don't see going back to it , it's been nothing but unfun and frustrating to me.
The theme, the movies and the acting seemed cool, but in my humble opinion the gameplay is not well designed, the way you discover new clips is random/flawed and unfun, that I cannot be bothered since it strips me of a real sense of investigation.
A big fan of Ar thur Fisc her's early works, I had always been curious about what had happened to Ambrosio, especially considering how publicized the movie had been. This restoration ef fort on display here is truly wonde rful, and, asid e from the f ilm, all the extra s are fascinat ing i n their own righ t (though I did not expect Fisc her to b e such misogynistic tyrant, quite a shock indeed !). Re winding and scrubbing through the film was quite a nost algic experience, and shows just how Passionate the team was.
The Durick's I'm less enthused by. Never rea lly liked the guy, and what i s here only confir ms m y thoughts on the matter. Car l Greenw ood was a good man though, and does bring something out in the director.
O verall, I can only recomm end you try it.
1. Some scenes probably deserve an NC-17.
2. Some scenes would be considered by certain members of the gaming community as blasphemous.
If the above triggered any red flags for you, then you should probably take a pass on this. Because what
the 'game' is REALLY about might bother you even more. Mini spoiler at the bottom. If you are just looking for a little fun, you should probably look elsewhere.
