Description
In an exotic range of vehicles and around some of the harshest circuits ever devised, you've got to ram, nudge, barge and otherwise cheat your way to victory. If you spot a sneaky shortcut, then use it - if your opponent's hugging the cliff edge then give him a nudge and a salute as you cruise into the lead and he cruises into a deep gorge.
Out on these panoramic race circuits, you'll get to drive the weirdest range of vehicles. Speed merchants can try the Bug for size, style victims can hop in the Redneck and those with a taste for the bizarre can drive the bright yellow school bus through the opposition.
Once you've beaten the computer controlled cars, grab a mate and test the multiplayer mode. You won't need no steeenking modem to play head to head in this game, though, because Ignition features a unique split-screen mode for up close and personal racing.

Great game, playable without bugs
Great good old game as everyone who knows it knows. Thought I should drop by here and say that it works fine for me if and only if I turn off all the graphics mojos: Persp. Poly, Skid marks, Smoke. I haven't tried turning one of these on again to figure out if the exploding car bug is linked to only one of them, but I'm also not really missing these.

Decent racing game
It was fun to play with my son. Had a blast with this for a while. It got a little old after a while, but it was great just to have a fun race.

Perfect split screen race game
It may be a nostalgia grade, but this is one of the most relaxing split screen race games ever made. The cars are easy to drive and the only challenge is the track itself. These are only a few of, but they are fun, memorable, chellenging and each one is very different.

Do you want to race in ambulance car?
I remember playing Ignition on Windows 95 in 1997. When I had 8 Mbytes of RAM the game stuttered a little due to constant HDD access. Then I bought another 8 Mbytes of RAM. Man! How good it was! Ignition is a game from my childhood and always be. The game itself features 7 different tracks with a lot of arcade racing. There are a handful number of cars including ambulance car, a truck and school bus! The pros: - Fun and vivid gameplay. - Diverse tracks. - Ability to race in unconventional vehicles. The cons: - Bad balance of cars. I mean, you could win tournament in a truck at novice level but at higher difficulty levels you must use faster cars. - Only DOS version available (without 3Dfx support). For people with random explosion glitch: try to disable ghost car and all options in graphics menu except window width.
