Don't fell in to the trap of all the 5 stars. It's all nostalgia speaking. If you liked baldur's gate, chances are you won't like this, at all. All you do is kill kill kill and kill and some loot, occasionally some talk, but honestly all of those are pointless and the way you act matters almost zero. Not to mention the price is incredibly high, put another 20 dollars and go buy witcher 3 game of the year edition. It is thousands of times better.
Bought the game and was enjoying it till I came across a game breaking bug. I couldn't continue after about 25% through the game and my time was wasted. Avoid at all costs.
That one star? That's for this EE edition. I only have and only want the classic edition, but there's no store page to rate or review it anymore. The price is WAY too high (twice the price) for the classic and I'm not giving a game I don't want a good rating, especially when it's practically hiding the real classic, it's proper price and it's reviews and ratings, now.
I'm not really all that interested in writing a review (what can I say about the classic that hasn't been said - it's GREAT), but since I can't even RATE the classic anymore, this is the only thing I can do. Suffice it to say that I loved, played and still own boxed editions (or would if I could ever get them back - long story that I won't go into) from when they were new.
Anyway, what I'm really interested in is for the classic to be sold separately, have it's own store page, it's own reviews, ratings and proper price back. The classics sold far better than the EEs and what I've seen of the devs' attitude makes me want to avoid them (the EEs AND their devs). Now, people who only want the classics are going to have to buy the EE versions to get them. This looks like nothing more than a way for Beamdog to make extra sales from people who don't even want their editions, not to mention boosting their ratings and position in the Best Seller list artificially. I want GOG to know this, I want Hasbro to know this, I want everyone to know this. Anyone who feels the same should contact Hasbro and vote up the wishlist for unbundling this.

The classics were easily found near the top of the bestseller list. The EEs? I don't know where they are in the list, but they've had enough time to get the positions they deserve.
I don't know what all the stellar reviews are about — these devs can't seem to program a scroll bar properly:
- If you grab the slider and try to scroll it twitches uncontrollably up and down as long as you move the mouse. Unusable.
- If you click the scroll bar you'd expect to jump one page up or down, but instead nothing happens. Unusable.
- If you click on the arrows it doesn't scroll at a sensible speed like you would expect, but instead starts scrolling the list of items at a tremendous pace where they move across the screen in a blur, leaving you immediately disoriented. Good luck actually stepping through the list one item at a time. Unusable.
- If you try to scroll using two finger gestures (macOS) it scrolls about 50 items when you move your fingers 0.1 micrometer. Did anyone at the dev studio even TEST this? Doesn't seem like it. Unusable.
- If you try using the arrow keys nothing happens. Unusable.
The only scrolling that works decently is if you have a stepped scroll wheel, or a touchscreen. What a joke.
I don't think I should have to babysit basic features like scrolling in paid software. This is obviously not a quality release when they can't even get basic interaction right. Half the reason I even bought this EE version was that I *thought* I'd get proper trackpad gesture support in macOS, which is otherwise an absolutely stellar experience and ideal for this kind of game.
It doesn't help that the game often almost grinds to a halt after a resolution change either. Characters move at about 1 FPS until you restart.
I'm sure the rest of the game is great, but I'm already distracted enough to stop playing and write this instead. So much for that immersion...
