All I was hoping for was a correction to high wisdom scores not adding to saves vs. magic properly. It was all I wanted. For the high wisdom requirement classes that were given low magic saves in the rules to balance out by those wisdom scores adding to their magic saves. It is really damn simple. It is the way it is suppose to work. The cleric who can fix the party is suppose to be better at making those mass disabling saves. It ruined and unbalanced BG, they left in the EE, and they did not do better here. This is the result of nightly using different random coders implementing whatever random code they felt like, who had no appreciation or understanding of the ruleset.
++++++++ A silent protagonist
++++ The setting is pretty good
++ The sidequests are decent
++ The ui is very intuitive
++++ You make your own party of 6 adventurers
++++ The gameplay is decent for such an old game
++++ There is a story mode
++++ The area loot button is amazing
++++ The character creation is pretty good
++++ The inventory system is pretty good, and it makes us carefully consider what loot to keep and what to toss away
++++ We can do the dlc after the main quest if we want to, and i think that helps the structure of the game a lot
------ There are very few dialogue options in this game
------ The dialogue options are very specific and that limits roleplaying imo, i wish they had added some basic dialogue options like yes and no and maybe later. Those dialogue options are great because they allow us to decide what our characters mean when we choose one of those options
---- I don't think of this as an rpg, i think of this as an interactive book. to be fair though, most RPGs are just interactive books/movies, at least this one is fun
-- I don't like that we have to "roll" for our attribute points, it's just a waste of time
-- It's not 3rd edition or pathfinder :/
-- For some reason magic users can only use staves - slings or darts, and clerics can only use maces - clubs and flails :/
For me it was worth the money to experience the story and the world, but i don't consider this a true rpg. I consider this an interactive book with a decent story.
My feelings that developers have an amazing respect for the real game. Therefore they did not dare to change anything on the original. I must say this game still worth it even if the enhanched edition' graphic level nowhere to Pillars of Ethernity for instance. What developers really did they converted ID, updated for today's requirements, and at the same time they preserved the whole ID experience and made more convenient for rpg fans and newbies as well.
Can't outfit all characters at the start or even after playing many hours. prices for anything are OUTRAGEOUS. you get a few hundred gp tops in a dungeon and One character requires a minimum of a thousand to outfit. can't even BUY a magic weapon, or find one, yet you are sent into battle with several mobs that can only be hit with magic. Also, my magic user constantly charges into battle without weapons or robes and no spells. found no way to stop her. One fighter, outfitted to the max as best I could, kept dying easily. Couldn't afford to raise him, so forced to reload. and I didn't even get through the Shadow vale yet. gave up. want refund
