I've only played for a few hours but it has been very enjoyable thus far. I am on the third character. I love the trial and error aspect of the game. Overall, very intriguing and mature.
Even though I absolutely love point ‘n’ click adventures, I have to admit, I’ve only learned about this game recently. I understand it’s based on Harlan Ellison’s classic dystopian short story, and oh boy, it couldn’t be more dystopian than this! It plunges players into a bleak, psychological horror experience, where five tormented survivors must navigate the twisted challenges set by AM, a malevolent AI that has eradicated humanity (a plot that’s getting more and more relevant these days…).
The game excels in its mature, thought-provoking storytelling, delving into themes of trauma, morality, and redemption. Each character’s scenario presents deeply personal and often disturbing dilemmas, demanding tough ethical choices. The atmosphere is haunting, amplified by eerie visuals and a chilling score. While the gameplay can be clunky by modern standards, the writing and voice acting, especially of AM, remain gripping.
This is definitely an unforgettable experience, a must-play for fans of nightmarish, narrative-driven adventures, but for me sometimes it was too dark, so it’s absolutely not for the faint of heart. The fact that you can die quite often, and you have to try over and over again (unless you save diligently) can also be a bit tedious for some, and the story is not easy to follow, either, especially because it’s basically cut into five almost completely separate episodes. But it’s a very unique experience, so yeah, if you’re up for it, give it a try.
Are you ready for a unique and deeply unsettling experience? "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" is simply a masterpiece! This game completely captivated me with its dark and complex narrative, rich in philosophical and moral themes.
Each character has a heartbreaking and engaging story, and every choice you make immerses you further into a universe that's as disturbing as it is fascinating. The antagonist AI, AM, is one of the most memorable villains in gaming history.
Every minute of the game had me glued to the screen, and the emotions I felt are hard to put into words. This is a title that must be experienced, as it makes you reflect in ways few other games can. If you love graphic adventures and unforgettable stories, you cannot miss it. An experience that will stay with you forever! by AM.
Mix of Horror and Graphic adventure, this game is amazing. With voiced actors (specially AM) which makes the story even more involved.
Also as a player, you want to put together the story as AM only gives you bits and pieces, enough for your to reconstruct the story for each character. Very engaging. And the difficulty is not so bad. I have yet to find any moon logic puzzle.
Take a good short story, expand its environment, characters and interactions to a bigger scale, add some complex background for each character, some puzzles with creative solutions here and there, and you will get one of the best graphic adventures . To top it all off, there's brilliant dialogues and voice acting, and some of the decisions you make alter the ending of the game. Losing is also quite satisfactory, although I have to admit that you get frustrated and you don't know what to do at some points..But If you enjoy a good story on a rainy evening at home., this game is definitely for you
