Wonderful experience of Alternate web
I have a lot of nostalgia for the early days of the internet, connecting with dial up and crusing around websties filled with loud colors, rainbow text, and alternate cursors. This game pulls at that nostalgia through the lense of an intersting alternate internet that never was. Obviously this alternet web, called hypnospace in game, is no where as large as the internet was. However there are many intersting nooks and crannys to get yourslef into, and at least for me it felt like I was rediscovering the joy of the internet for the first time again. I highly recommend this game as a unique vibe and it is a joy to sit down and take a couple of hours to explore a space both familar and completly foriegn. If you have gotten this far you will have noticed I haven't once mentioned gameplay thus far into this review. That is simply because there isn't really much, you do have a checklist of objectives that change as the game progresses, and there is a story that unfolds with different endings depending on your choices. However the gameplay is not in anyway what made me enjoy this game, and it honestly sometimes got in the way of the natural exploration I wanted to do on my own. All that being said if you so much as have a passing interest in the internet as it was viewed through a dial up modem I highly recommend this game. Just don't expect replayable experience or an statisfying gameplay loop.
