Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition

GOOD GAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great game, go play it. Playing through the sequel at the moment and it's also great. Open world adventure that's a mix of sci-fi and stone-age fantasy. Enjoyable all the way through. A lot of people say they don't like the plot, but I enjoyed it for what it was.

I'd really give this game 3 1/2 stars if we could give halves. But I'm rounding up instead of down simply because I liked the overall story rather than the storytelling specifics. The game is beautiful from a graphical and artistic point of view. The overall story kept me engaged. However, the game gets repetitive and the story is fairly predictable the further along you get. The crafting system is not really useful, more like an appendage that seems like someone on the dev team said "Oh... we forgot to do something with all these metal monsters other than destroying them." There's really only two weapons that matter. The whole thing feels like a console game with overly simplistic game play and characteristic shallow linearity rather than a deeply engaging RPG with replayability. I never bothered playing it twice because there's no point.

I don't know what to do about this game. I see only 5 stars and 1 star. I would buy it, but then the 1-star are saying it asks for spyware consent after the intro. I am not so much concerned with the data collection, more so that the game will stop working when the "command and control" server will be taken down sometime in the future. And I see no note from GOG if the reports are still true or the issue is resolved. I am a digital hoarder with 300+ GOG games I didn't get around to play yet (cannot refuse a good sale myself :-( ...). By the time I get to play this, it probably won't work anymore. Absolutely no-go for me, I would not recommend anybody to buy a game from GOG without knowing for certain the "expiration date". Go Steam, at least there expectations are clear - meaning you should have none.
