Absolutely mint game
8 years in the making or whatever and they delivered. I am so impressed by this game, even after only 2 hours of play. I do not think I have ever played a game on release as polished and put together as this one. Team Cherry are what larger triple A developers should strive to be like. Absolutely blown away

This game is pain and suffering
Everything is out to kill me and I'm stressed as hell. I love it. Thoughts as of Act 1 Combat is incredibly punishing, requiring somewhat precise movement otherwise you're forced to take a lot of damage. Yours and the enemies' movesets are also very complex and you will need to pay attention to the entire screen at times. All skill unlocks and upgrades should be considered when fighting. If Hollow Knight enemies are Dark Souls 1 in terms of complexity, Silksong's are Elden Ring. The world is designed in a way that makes everything feel hostile, contrasting the wonderful environment. I think it's beautiful for that. Exploration is also an emotional roller coaster because of that. (You'll get used to dying) Minor gripes: Some tools are expensive due to the cost of shell shards which is similar to Sekiro's Spirit Emblem. Add the many amount of times you'll die and need to reset a fight, you can run out of them. If you don't go out of your way to farm the currency, you'll be broke majority of the time. But there's a good currency farming spot in the grey area as of Act 1. A lot of benches do require currency payment so you need to stock up on a lot of those. Keep them stringed as well to be extra safe and you don't lose them on death. At my stage of the game, it uses 80 currency to get a death-safe 60 currency. Not a bad rate. Using thumbstick can cause diagonal downwards pogo really difficult as it can register as a normal attack if you don't move it down enough. Silk skills do feel abit conflicting with tools as tool inputs are direction + skill. This means that sometimes when you intend to use a skill, you'll use a tool. This is a skill issue on my part as you just have to stay still then use the skill but it does feel a bit bad. Staggered enemies can still hurt you by contact, this is a prevalent issue for some bosses stated by others but I have not experienced much pain from this yet. I think it's annoying but not affect the experience too much

The game is very good despite how difficult it is. Map is massive with a whole ton of stuff to find and I am digging it!
