Played so far only few hours but so far it is perfect. Controls are snappy and moveset is really satisfactory, soo different than in HK1. You really feel that you're playing Hornet because of all the acrobatic moves. Beautiful music, butter smooth animations, stunning world design. Coudn't have asked for more :)
Only five hours in at this point, but so far Silksong absolutely feels on par if not better than Hollow Knight.
Combat is paced extremely fast compared to HK, and the game can be quite punishing if you heal in the wrong spot (aka you lose all silk, but heal doesn't go through) but so far I'm having a pretty good time.
I had an easier time finding the map vendor than I did when I played HK but I can't tell if it is from better design or just because I knew of the "map cue" already from playing HK.
Great boss fights.
Extremely nice visuals, I love the art style.
I wish there was a way to keybind tool use to a single button (keyboard) instead of having to press two buttons at the same time, it gets a bit much with the spam tools you want to press many times in a row.
I have not really been waiting for this game, but I played the first Hollow Knight back in 2021, sometime, I think. And to simply put, it's an amazing game, despite being Team Cherrys first game (from what I know) And through out the years, hearing all this talk about Silksong, and that it was never gonna come out, seemed kinda like the Cube World thing, if you know, you know. But then Silksong had an "announcment" this summer, and people were blown away. Me included, because even tho we knew basically nothing about the game, it looked amazing in the reveal.
I am now here to tell you, that it is true, Silksong is real, and the game is truuuuly, amazing. But. Some things, I kinda feel weird about. 1 There are 2 different currencies, 1 for shops, which I feel is very scarce sometimes. And a 2nd one who is used for, creating throwing knifes/needles, and sometimes, used for quests which I so far have almost always had full of.
My second thing I feel weird about. Is that, when looking at the map. I might be wrong, but it looks kinda small. I have almost gotten to the Citadel (Which
is the first quest you get) at this point (I think) about 6 and a half hours in. And I really hope, after I get there, the game continues, for a while. If not this game is kinda shorter than the original Hollow Knight (Not talking 100% or 112% into consideration) Other than that, combat is amazing, I am having a lot of fun with it. Bosses are TRULY Breath taking both the fights and visuals. I like the new quest system, it keeps track of what you have to do but does not hold your hand. I like the improvements of the map, because I kinda had a hard time navigation in the first game. And the story also, is very good from what I understand, and cutscenes look sooo good.
So my first 6 hours basically, has all been a blast, and I hope it goes on for maybe 12 more, or something like that. Also, I really hate the ants xD
