Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete

I bought this game because of nostalgia. I played it a long time ago and believed that I remembered it being good. Maybe I thought it was at the time, but maybe not. Bottom line: this game is not as good now as I remember it. It is super unfair and totally imbalanced. Even on the easiest setting, enemies have more resources, better towns, better heroes, and better units. I literally got instantly killed on the *very first* battle of a campaign. My opponent had epic units that I did not, on top of the fact that he had more of them. He even had a hero that was casting epic spells while my hero couldn't cast any at all. The game didn't give me a chance to build units or prepare. In fact, I didn't even have a base! Not all campaigns are THAT imbalanced, but most are. The above example is one of the more extreme ones, but you get the general idea of it. Even on some of the easier campaigns I find it to be unbeatable. Plus, the gameplay is SUPER repetitive. Stay away from this.

This game is one of the best I have ever played, it was one of my absolute favorites growing up. Buyer beware though, while this says it is compatible with several versions of windows, it certainly is not. And noone has a solution. Very sad to have spent the money to support GOG and this title only to not be able to play it nor get my money back for something that if my profile was checked, shows 0 hours of gameplay since purchse. If you buy this game, you run the risk of having spent money for a game that will not work on newer computers, period, and no one will care to help you solve it. This is a favorite game of my past which I guess will have to stay there. If you can get it to work, as I would guess there are plenty out there without my problem, you will find this to be the very definition of a GOLDEN OLDIE. It is an amazing title. But you may not get it here from GOG. Your call!

The game crashes constantly even after following all the recommended fixes on the GOG troubleshooting page. GOG games in my experience are totally reliable, so this was a big disappointment. I would recommend against spending your money on this. FYI I am on Windows 10 and it typically takes anywhere between 5-10 minutes before the game locks up and requires a total reboot (i.e. task manager won't help). I should point out that the game itself is great. I wish it would work.
