The best Part of the Series
HoMM3 is the best Part of the complete HoMM-Series. It's better than the older Ones and after Ubisoft bought the Rights (HoMM 4 until now) the Series became unplayable.

A blast from the past.
I have never been able to NOT play this game. I started when I was 12 years old. I am now 26. And I STILL consider this one of the greatest Fantasy TBS game I have EVER played, EVER.

instantly addictive
this game, and HoMM 2, had me hooked minutes after inserting the CD. HoMM 3 is the better of the two games because of it's long term replayability. 10 years later it still sits on my hard drive and gets played occasionally. Both games are bug free masterpieces. if you like the genre, this will probably be the best 4 bucks you will ever spend. Nothing is any better.

Purely Excellent
My judgement might be slightly skewered by nostalgia, but this simply has to be one of the best games i have played in my entire life. Charming design, *great* music, interesting castles, spells and maps, "practically" endless replayability and good flow both in combat and outside. Graphics might seem a little dated today, but it was simply THE best for its time, and is still fun to revisit today. If you haven't played this beforehand, it will (happens to all games) probably seem old, but if you decide to sink a couple of hours into it you will feel rewarded that you did.
