the game is cool indeed, but...
why only the first part? Wish a platinum edition was introduced, including Heroes 1-3 with addons.

Childhood Classic
It is an amazing game from the past, I would suggest this to anyone feeling nostalgic about the nineties. I played it for countless of hours alone or hot-seating with my siblings. The comic graphics and beautiful music create a marvellous atmosphere. I don't think there's any strategy fan who haven't heard about this one. I've downloaded with GOG Galaxy and runs without any problems on Windows 10. (Except for the editor, I wasn't able to run it yet.)

Fond Memories
I remember when I was around 12 or 13 years old, I recieved this game and Crusader: No Remorse for Christmas. Weeks later I had barely touched Crusader as I was just comepletely hooked on HOMM. I've never played a turn based strategy game before and was so addicted, literally spending entire weekends playing this game. I eventually played Crusader, finished it, and went right back to Heroes. While HOMM3 is probably the best game in the series, this is the one I really remember, but I suppose if your going to only pick up one version, 3 is the best.
