Aliya Elasra is an archaeologist, exploring a strange region of space called the Nebula with her robot sidekick Six, hoping to uncover the secrets of the long-forgotten past. When a roboticist from the University of Iox goes missing, Aliya begins a trail of discoveries that will lead to the very edge of her world - and the ancient secret of Heaven's Vault.

"Heaven’s Vault is both ambitious and beautiful. It conjures a world rich with life... I don’t hesitate to recommend Heaven’s Vault." - Game Informer

"Heaven's Vault is one of the most enthralling narrative-driven adventure games I've played" - Wired

Sail an open-world of fast flowing space-rivers, discover lost ruins, explore ancient sites, find artefacts and translate their strange hieroglyphics. Piece together the history of the world and an entire ancient language.

From the creators of massively-branching interactive adventure 80 Days, Heaven's Vault is not your usual linear adventure game. Progress through the game in any order you choose - the game's fully adaptive narrative remembers every choice you make, every discovery and every action you take, influencing what happens next. Meet a diverse cast of characters who remember everything you say, and who's attitude to you will change with how you act. Some are friendly, some are cautious, and some are out to trick you.

Who will you trust? What will you find? What will you learn? What will you risk? What will you lose?

Original, relaxing, and very, very good

(played through a different client) This game was a big, big surprise. It's what I play when I just want the rest of the world to curl up and die in a corner somewhere, slowly and painfully. Which is a blood-drenched accolade for a very peaceful game. You play as an archaeologist - though a weird one, as the people around you don't believe in history, for religious reasons. You get to visit beautiful places. You get to fly around, and it's stunning and calming and awesome. You could skip it, but why would you? You also play as a ridiculously bad scholar. Sure, you see an antique bit of...whatever, and you can tell right away how old it is, and where in the universe it comes from. The text on it? No clue. In a way, deciphering those texts IS the game, and it's great fun. This is a game that somehow managed to fill all empty areas around my screen with densely-written post-it notes. The fact that an apparently educated protagonist never seems to realize the words for "Heaven" and "Heaven's" are related is baffling though. On the other hand... the moment you realize that they are, and why and how they're related, is glorious. Play this if you love languages, or if you love discovering stuff for discovery's sake, or whenever the world around you gets altogether too real.

Not perfect. Still absolutely amazing!

Really original and well developed setting and story - very internally consistent, while still full of wonder, and fantastical elements. Suspension of disbelief is through the roof! That's how fiction should be written!! (reminds me slightly of Beyond Good & Evil in its certain qualities) Story has so many twists and turns, that it could as well be one of the Rivers the player travels on ingame. And even if the player expects some of those turns, it's a good kind of feeling. Why, you ask? Player is met with mysterious universe, that's not well understood even by its inhabitants. Then, the player starts to establish certain theories about the world, with the help from NPCs or the protagonist, but also from connecting the dots from bits and pieces of backstory/lore. Then, player confirms, or discards those established theories, based on further information - archeological focus of the game causes it to play almost like an detective game, because the past is very much alive (not-dead?), so to speak. Ahistorical chaos, which the world is drowned in (historical knowledge is considered strange and unnecessary for certain reasons), further adds to the depths of "the investigation". Add to the above: - Language system (very organic and enjoyable overall), - Travel minigame (simplistic, slow at times, but plays its role sufficiently) - Non-linear approach to exploration/story (order of explored Moons is for the player to decide and affects how the game plays further, at least to a certain degree) In general, game is astonishingly ambitious and probably stretches a bit too wide - that's why the flaws are apparent and tangible. I think the most important are: - Overall slow tempo - Dialog system is imperfect, which in addition to certain "solutions" being obscure (not a bad thing on its own), can result in frustration or missing some bits of content - Language system is lacking QoL features - Travel minigame is underdeveloped A MUST play, if you can swallow the above.

One of the Best Games of all Time

I don't quite understand how much of a sleeper this game is. I had never heard of it until I happened across it in a sale. This game is one giant archeological and linguistic mystery upon mystery upon mystery. The game has a very natural progression on what you find and what you learn. The pace is absolutely perfect so you can immerse yourself in the setting and the story. I truly love how complex the RP elements are as well as completely in love with the entire experience of learning the language of the game. This game has a TON of replayability and is a must buy for any history, language, and archeology nerd. Even if the game is entirely fictional, the entire process of finds and puzzling out what something means is addicting. Trying to find out how best to navigate the challenges of the setting is also amazing. There are also nuances that only show up the more you replay that are genius. This game is truly unique and one of a kind and I cannot rave about it enough.

It would be a good game but...

It would be a good game, but it's not for me, I gave up. First, it has unstoppable dialogs. It's pretty stressful even with a native language, but the game has no localization at all. You can't relax, can't be distracted, finally, you can't enjoy. Second, unskippable travels. It's a bad design always.

Very Shoddy and Strange Game

Camera too fast, cannot change resolution 1080p60hz, but can 320p, and what use does 320p frame????????????????? Character picture are extremely blurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrweucuasbcbdsacnh, and scenes are just like the rat bit the rocks. Very uncomfortable camera and nearly vomit out. The sentence with 123 selections are time-limited I can't get that mean. I hate this game, it deosn't worth $4, if it's $1 will be suit the quality. Don't want refund but you must update this. The story seems not fun.
