You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
I didn't play much gwent while it was in beta coz there is not much free time in my day left for games, but i really liked it. 1-2 hours, time to time. This game was like an old friend, you don't see him everyday but you still miss him. I've read about deck building, watched videos from gwent open and so on. It was cool.
And now you made it into something totally different. It's just another game. Why you don't name it Gwent 2 and release some time later? I mean game in beta should be polished, but not totally messed up. Your new game is still ok, but I would rather continue to play the old Gwent, and one day (maybe) move to the new version. The problem is not only I don't want to play it, I don't even want to watch videos or read any materials about it. I just don't like it. At all. That's really sad... Gwent was absolutely unique... until you made it 1.0.
Anyway, thank you, really, for that short, but beautiful time that I spent in Gwent beta.
The beta version was great. Like gwent in the Witcher, but with much more cards and so many different tactics and ways to win. The cards were also lovely designed and familiar. I really loved it.
Now after the beta test phase, the game got completely changed from good to worse :(
I have spent over 200 hours and some money in the beta version, but i will stop now.
I normally don't write reviews or comment games in public. However this huge remodeling got me
really disappointed and angry.
Well, they say making completely different game in 2 years is great, but it is... strange. The had a nice gameplay with some freshy mechanic and they made laggy unplayable simplified game with lots of unplayable cards which don't even combinated!
Did it worth to make awful CGI commanders instead of nice intensive gameplay? I think not.
Or at least you should wait untill this ...thing will run with more than 15-20 FPS.
