FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME
A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.
STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD
Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.
SKILL BEATS LUCK
Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY
Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.
EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
i really liked the way Beta Gwent played. Now its Thronebreaker but Multiplayer, if i want to play Thronebreaker i go and play THRONEBREAKER!
GIVE ME BACK MY GWENT!
I had a ton of fun playing gwent in the Witcher 3 and when I got invited to the beta I loved playing monster decks. I spent real money just to support the game, and had a full premium card deck. After the patch I got the scraps I could use to rebuild it but while looking at the cards, I realized the things I enjoyed were dumbed down or removed completely. Honestly I wouldn't have spent a dime if I knew they were going to change the game to this. I played several games, crafted a deck that was kind of similar to the deck I had but I didn't have nearly as much fun with it. I have uninstalled the game, best of luck but I won't be back unless the beta version is brought back.
>>> SHORT VERSION <<<
- Money grab (microstransactions which are at least hundred of dollars)
- Base game is multiplayer (in five years, will you be able to find opponents?)
- Expansion contains solo campaign... for $40
- Cannot easily obtain new cards
- You can't use cards from other decks (despite the claims that you can, you can't. I tried for half an hour)
- You cannot tell the difference between lower and higher tiered cards (no identifiable markers)
- Card balance is terrible (see last paragraph in longer version)
>>> LONG VERSION <<<
First off, the solo game does NOT come with this game. You need to buy the expansion (which is complete bull). I will not pay $40 to potentially play a game I may or not enjoy.
Base game itself is ONLY multiplayer (so once no one plays, you can't play). You can practice, sure, sure, but you get nothing at all, and this includes cards.
On top of that, the game - again! - wants to grab money by selling you a bunch of items. Basically microtransactions that adds up to probably be at least a few hundred dollars. This is NOT a full game, but half a game that should NEVER have been released. Don't let the positive reviews fool you. They don't know what they're talking about.
Aside from that, you get to select your decks, but you barely have anything to build with (25 cards, which is the minimum), and it's not like you can easily get cards and you cannot use cards from other decks, despite the claims that you can. You can't, I tried for half an hour.
Also, you cannot tell the difference lower and higher tiered cards (not a joke).
Besides that, you battle players who may have been playing the game for a long time. Also, in terms of mechanics, the game is terrible. See, there are cards that can destroy cards instantaneously if an enemy card has 8+ HP. This means that if you play with high attacking custom decks with low abilities to none, then you'll get destroyed. This is one example among other card play inbalances.
This is so awesome game. The new update brings this game to life. For me, it's best CCG. Look's like FIRE. The new card with real 3d character, new board, the new mechanic, new interface, looks so good. Nice job, Gwent TEAM. I'm very happy for you and game.
P.s Other popular CCG's looks so shitty near new Gwent. XD
