FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME
A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.
STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD
Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.
SKILL BEATS LUCK
Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY
Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.
EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
Great! It does seem to be a completely different game now that they've overhauled most of the things I've found annoying. 3 to 2 rows is good, since it now actually makes a difference in which row you stick a lot of cards in. The artifact system is interesting, you get a lot more free ore and other stuff now :)
Furthermore I like the idea of learning each card anew since they do completely different stuff. Also ridiculous powerpoint for cards seem to be out of this game as well!
Oh, and drawing 3 additional cards / round instead of 2 and then 1 makes this game more than it's previous iteration of "outcome of round 1 decides the res tin 9/10 cases".
Gwent before homecoming was a amusing little game that i spent quite alot of time on.
Homecoming is not Gwent at all this game is poorly tested. I understand that CDPR wanted to make the game flashier but to totaly redo everything and release it as a full game after almost 2 years of playtesting is pretty much just asking for the game to die. Granted it looks better then the Beta Gwent but the game in it self is a totally unbalanced mess. Ive given it 2 weeks of play now and every second i play im thinking why arent i playing hearthstone instead. During beta i always picked Gwent over other card games now it really isnt the case. Shame on you CDPR for doing this to a good community of players that really liked your product
I loved playing Gwent in TW3, I liked the initially released version of Gwent. The difference between playing Gwent in TW3 and here was that there was no story to it and you did not feel like playing with characters here like in the game, that's what made the one in the game more appealing. Now you scraped the amazing gameplay of Gwent in TW3 and added a story. Now this one has a bland gameplay and a forgettable storytelling something. I'd love it if there would be an "original gwent" mode for those who loved the gameplay in the first one and in TW3, this one right now is just not...interesting, and it doesn't feel like Gwent anymore.
I have played over 2000 hours of Witcher 3, so I have played a great deal of Gwent during that time. I cannot understand how this game bears the same name. It does not even have the same cards or the same number of rows. This is like calling Pokemon MTG. Why not actually create a game that is truly Gwent, instead of this nonsense. I really was disappointed when I installed and started with the tutorial. I felt like I was baited and switched.
