EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
it's also so complex that getting into it is kinda hard.
Because of that and because of the competetive nature, it's very easy to just built some meta deck without putting much thought into what else is possible. It starts out fun, when you start with "bad" cards and slowly improve your deck through the grind, but at one point you will just get matched against much more capable decks and the game is over before it even started.
Then it's no longer about strategy until you adopt your deck to the meta and play what allows you to compete instead of playing what you want.
I honestly would rather play against some advanced AI that uses decks that are equal to mine then get matched against the same meta decks over and over.
I also dislike the balance of decks, where the deck basically plays itself, since it's just about one specific strategy. At that point, it's no longer about playing a game but just a coin flip, whether your oppenent can handle your strategy or not.
Might be because it's The Witcher, but it keeps my attention much better than other TCGs.
Wish there were more quests/goals/rewards I could cash in per day. But it's the excuse I need to put it down for the night
