i think this demo is a lot more convincing than the screenshots or trailer, because they don't transport well how the combat system works.
the demo is long and gives a good impression about what to expect in the game.
my only problem with the demo is, that it stops and you have to load your last savegame, when you reach its end, before finishing everything else.
... not much though. I guess the fights will get more difficult later in game, but in demo there's no variation.
Controls for keyboard are pretty hard to rebind (not all are shown, and it's impossible to rebind a key that is already assigned, so it's a guessing game). Lack of jumping... well, there is a long jump, but it seems weird to use and there is the original Prince of Persia style pulling up the ledge - and I'm not talking about the Sands of Time, but the 1989 game - makes sure you don't treat this game as a platform game it is tagged as.
Switching between normal mode and battle mode gets tiresome fast.
Music and sound effects get old pretty fast as well.
The worst part (maybe not as tiresome in the demo, as one might just go forward most of the time) is backtracking. Normal walking speed is not particularly fast, the long jumps make it only slightly faster, and with no way to get around enemies (who respawn after leaving the screen) going back several screens might (and almost certainly will) seem tedious.
The story does seem interesting though, and given the low price of the full version, I might grab it when it's on sale.
I would rate this demo as "a bit disappointing, but not the worst" and maybe even add "after playing for some time, it's not that bad".
The game was clearly designed with a controller in mind. It doesn't tell you which keyboard input effect which action, so I had to randomly press buttons until I figured what's what. But the placements of these inputs were really awkward and there isn't an option to change them. I didn't get far in the game and decided to uninstall it.
If anyone is planning on picking up this game make sure you have a controller on hand for your PC or you won't have much of a good time.
