Grim Dawn - Forgotten Gods

Diablo 2 (be cursed!) started it with the tedious Act II, now every ARPG has to have one. What moron thought it would be a good idea to take the blandest and most boring area and make it the setting for your game? I got this DLC in the package (Definitive Edition) but end up skipping the DLC campaign entirely. It drags on for far too long, enemy variety is bland and repetitive, most of the tougher enemies are bullet sponges.

I had been enjoying playing this game in Hardcore Veteran, so figured I'd pick up the expansions. The expansions add 'Monster Totems' to the game, which spawn over-leveled enemies with skills, abilities, and damage types that are not at all balanced for the areas or character level you find them. Getting frozen to death at lvl 7 with absolutely no recourse whatsoever to survive is poor game balance, and I regret adding this expansion to my game because it's going to have to make me avoid Hardcore mode, changing the way I was playing the game and making it less enjoyable. Jackass move by devs.

Would have loved to get thru at least an hour or two of it, but the game crashes within the first few minutes of venturing out into the newer zone (forget name) when they first send you out for your first quests to the north of the expansion base area. Never had one crash in Grim Dawn or AOM expansion but this one does it constantly and its really frustrating. It would be somewhat forgivable if it could just save the crash to the exact place it happened, then I'd be some...what... okay with it, but grinding through a zone for nearly 45 minutes to discover all of your efforts are for naught is unacceptable. Can the developers just fix this already, I'm not the only one, otherwise I'd appreciate a credit be offered.

I bought this DCL on sale hoping this will be something on level second DCL, sadly it's not. This DCL's too short, history is more linear and predictable that was in first addons. They didn't add much to game, and last boss on Ultimate is too much ovepovered (especially his AoE atack kiled my necro in one or two shots - sadly pet build when I drained down his health bellow 25%). Until I give up I played aboud 6 hours on Ultimate utilising my build from firs DCL with max level...

Waited so long for this DLC, looks good but crashes in old maps. Impossible to enter Jagged Waste. Maybe wait until bugs are worked out.
