Wow what an overcomplicated totally confusing and frustarating "game" this is. really wished i had not bothered with it.
looks great in the pictures but little or no help with what should have been an auto route trade options. and truly pathetic military unit size, nothing new here execpt more frustation and disapointment. dont waste your valuble time on crap like tis even for 5 euros!
This is easily one of the worst games I had ever played. I bought it on pre-release on Steam, it was the last game I had ever bought on pre-release.
It has 20 resources, it implies to be a lot compared with most games that have 3 or 4, but half of those are built over raw ones.
Battle system is a mess. We must spend resources to "buy" army, then we need to keep them fed as long as they're alive, regardless if they're idle or fighting. To feed the army, we need to assure the city where a unit is has enough food to feed all units stationed on it. When a unit travels the map, it's fed from the closest city. It's always the closest one, we can't choose which city feed them. So, when we band the army to attack, the border city must feed the whole army. That's a very challenging endeavor, we must enlist all our travelers to keep sending food to that city.
If the feeding city goes out of food, the full army bound to that city just refuses to fight and goes back on map to that city. Regardless of the resources we spent "buying" them and how long we had spent food feeding them. Regardless of us having food on other cities, if we're unable to move food there. And they remain stationed on that city, they don't even accept going to a city with food! That's outrageous, the battle system is broken due to that.
The game is so, but so bad, that on campaign, if we follow the strict instructions of the tutorial, we lose! That's the level of how broken the game is!
Upon release, the publisher created a thread claiming they hear us and would fix the game. That was only to hold as many players as possible from refund. Because they just abandoned the game and never ever updated it, much less improved it! It's offensive they come back to working on it, not to fix, but to release it on another store!
Stay away at all cost!
This game gets a lot of flak but it's actually decent for what it is. There isn't really any depth to speak of and I wouldn't recommend paying full price, but if you catch a sale I would say it's worth.
